Proan ok watch

Consnot as good as the prequel

In the evenings I have been enjoying watching a good film or so, and noticed yesterday evening Speed was on, but by the time I faffed about tidying up and having a shower it was practically finished! Next up then was Speed 2 : Cruise Control which I had watched a few weeks earlier (and forgotten...

ProSandra Bullock

ConsStory, acting, effects....

I thought speed was a good film, with some good humour and action. Speed 2 promised to be just as good, but since its release the word 'speed' has made me feel sick. I can't watch speed these days without thinking about the horror that is the sequel. I recommend this film only to those people...

Prosome okay action sequences

Conseverything else

The original Speed, released in 1994, was a rock solid adrenaline pumping film, which, apart from the last 10 minutes, left you wanting more. It's sequel, Speed 2 Cruise Control, is terrible. The action sequences are limp, the adrenaline pumping moments of tension non-existent and the script...

Proso bad its funny

Consbad action, acting, directing, script, extras

Speed was a pretty decetn action film with a good premise that was well executed. naturally the formula cleaned up at the box office and a sequel was put into motion. Keanu Reeves passed on the idea and quite wisely yet Sandra Bullock reuruned and has only just started to recover from the debacle...

Super

ProGreat acting, action and special effects

ConsNot as good as the first

Granted this movie is not as good as its incredible prequel but it can still hold its own as an entertaining action flick. Jason Patric fits into the role of hero very well and is superb in the action sequences where he performed a lot of his own stunts. Sandra Bullock is also excellent as Annie...

ConsHow long have you got?

How on earth are you supposed to write at least a ninety word review of the film Speed 2? I'm not sure that the script even ran to that length! This film is dire. It's a boring done to death action film that has neither the humour, plot or thrill of Speed (1). Sandra Bullock is as charming as...

Consnot as good as the first

Much as I like Sandra Bullock I did not find this film as good as the original (for as full discussion of the merits of sequels watch the film Scream 2). I thought Willem Dafoe put in a passable performance as the villain (though I find it hard to imagine him as anything else). However I am not...

ProNot a lot.

Consunrealistic in some places

SPEED!!! We have all seen the first one and what a great film it is. One of the best films around and has some really good actors in it. Well worth seeing. SPEED 2!!! Its not as good as you may think. For a sequel to the first film, the director really has messed up. First thing is a film called...

Remember Speed? Well switch the bus with a cruise ship and you get Speed 2. In this movie Sandra and her new love Jason are on a cruise when it gets taken over by what else, a terrorist. The terrorist wants to ram the ship into shore and our heroes must save the day. Scott's Review: This movie...

The original 'Speed' was quite an entertaining film. It had fast action, explosions, talent (Dennis Hooper, Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock) and A PLOT! Speed 2: Cruise Control has only ONE of these things...Sandra Bullock! Speed 2 has about as much action as a celibate priest on a Sunday morning...

“Not As Good As Speed”

published 17/07/2000

ProGood special effects, good acting, quite intense

ConsNot as intense or exciting as Speed

I have seen this film about 3 times, and the first Speed is my favourite film of all time. Don;t get me wrong, this is a good film, just not quite up to the standard of Speed. It is set on a cruise liner, and there is a madman on board who plants bombs in golf balls and detonates them. SO the...

ProA sequil to a good film

ConsA bad sequil

This film had a hard act to follow and it did not make a good job of it at all. The fact that the cast had changed did not help and using a boat seemed somewhat unrealistic. The film failed to keep me on the edge of my seat aas with the first one and when it had finished I felt quite let down...

Product Information : Speed 2 - Cruise Control (DVD)

Manufacturer's product description

Spry "Speed" survivor Annie Porter (Bullock) can't seem to escape maniacal terrorists, as she discovers soon after boarding a posh luxury liner with her engagement-minded boyfriend, Alex. The bad news is that the disgruntled--and recently fired--mastermind behind the ship's electronic control systems wants revenge against the ship's management, so he sets the ship on a collision course with such deadly targets as an offshore oil tanker. The good news is that Alex has been training on the sly with an elite LAPD SWAT team, so the plucky pair resolves to save their fellow passengers.
