Advantages: Beautiful scenery and excellent production. Disadvantages: None
...the recent television documentary featuring Joanna Lumley, who fulfilled a lifelong ambition to visit the Land of the Northern Lights, then you may enjoy the DVD which has been made of her journey. Available from Amazon for £10.88 this is, in my opinion, a treasure. Recently I posted one off to one of my daughters who not only loves Joanna Lumley but also shares my fascination with this part of the world. The front cover of this DVD sets the scene. ... ...Growing up in tropical Malaysia Joanna had always had a dream of visiting the "Arctic North". She had a little childhood book which inspired her, "Ponny The Penguin", a tale about the Southern Lights or the Aurora Australis, written by Veronica Bassett. We are treated to a view of the aged pages, where curtains of jade cascade down from the sky illuminating the toes of the penguins that stand in awe in electric green. The Aurora Australis is the ...
I used to be a HUGE Steps fan in my younger days! I was mad about them! I had all their CDs , Videos , Books , T Shirts , Scarfs , Posters , Mugs .... if it had a Steps logo on it , I had it. So as you can image I was pretty gutted when they split up. Fast forward seven years and Claire Richards , ex member of Steps , is back on the scene with a fitness DVD which helped her drop five dress sizes! I remember, it was Christmas last year, when the DVD ... ...it was too expensive. I can't remember exactly how much it was at the time , although I think it might have been aroung £17 which I thought was far too much to pay for a fitness DVD. So I decided I would wait. I waited so long that I forgot about the DVD , until recently. I was browsing through the DVD pages on Amazon when I came across the DVD selling for £12.98 ; still quite expensive considering that the DVD is now a year old. However I still ...
Advantages: Gives an insider view of the popular TV show. Disadvantages: Bit expensive for what it is. Not a lot more than you would get in a standard episode.
The Jeremy Kyle has established itself as one of the staples of daytime TV today. Since 2005 it has covered interesting and often controversial issues such as paternity disputes (most common), infidelity, feuding neighbours and drug and alcohol addicts. However there are some uplifting issues that they deal with, such as family reunions and rejuvenating torn-down estates where crime and depravity are rife. The most well-konwn feature of the show ... ...at the studio and film Jeremy himself being pampered ready for the recording. The bulk of the 83 minutes of the DVD however I regret to say is not much more than an ordinary episode (though it was made especially for the DVD and has such never been broadcast on TV). There are 2 DNA tests and one lie detector test (I shan't give away the results). When watching this I did feel that the DVD wasn't perhaps worth the £12.71 I paid for it (which to be ...
...knew of is the lovely Lucy Benjamin. She's famous for her role as Lisa Mitchell in EastEnders, and was the winner of Celebrity X Factor a few years back. It was great to see her in the Jungle - she'd been away from our screens for too long. I wasn't aware that Lisa had released a fitness DVD, so when I made this discovery I was thrilled. I purchased it straight away, costing me just £2.95 from eBay. It is an extremely cheap DVD, and will cost you ... ...promising, a lovely picture of Lucy on the front, dressed in pink with her flat stomach on show, a Cheshire cat grin from ear to ear. Titled 'Dancercise', I had a feeling this was not going to be like my usual beloved cardio aerobic DVDs, and was keen to find out just what I was up against. The DVD itself brings you up three options, the second being 'workout selector' which allows you to choose the part of the work out you want to do. Though seeing ...
Advantages: useful tips Disadvantages: presenters so annoying!
...wondering who Kim Woodburn is, how is she a celebrity? Well she became 'famous' from her appearance alongside Aggie MacKenzie in the TV show 'How Clean Is Your House'.
The concept of the show is really very simple- Kim and Aggie help people to clean up their houses. It sounds quite dull actually, why would you actually want to watch this? Well the truth is you just can't help yourself! Is one of those compulsive viewings like Come Dine With Me and ... ...and they quiz them about how the house has become to the state it has and what is happening in their lives which means that they can't even ever run a duster around the house. They then set to work! They take swabs to check for bacteria and then give cleaning tips. The cleaning tips can be really simple although sometimes when I watch this I start to think well I've never put white vinegar inside my washing machine, am I just as bad as this person?! ...
