**I've Been Inked**
Review of Miami Ink - Series 1 - Complete (Box Set) by just.bcoz

Advantages: Great storys, tattoos and interviews
Disadvantages: None

...episode here and there of Miami Ink on Discovery Real Time and quite enjoyed the show. Having only seen about 7 episodes of the TV show which were all from either season two or three, I decided to browse the internet to see if I could pick up a cheap season 1 box set on DVD, I was quite expecting to pay about £30-40 for the box set because there are 20 episodes in total for series one of Miami Ink. I was browsing the internet for the box set looking ...
...other online retailers selling the Miami Ink box set as they were all priced well above £30. Miami Ink is a reality show which gives us an insight into the lives of the tattoo artists and the clients they tattoo. The Miami ink tattoo parlour is co-owned by tattoo artists Ami James and Chris Núñez and is situated in Miami Beach Florida. Each episode is narrated by Ami James, and the main musical theme for the series is a rather catchy tune which ... Read review

Do you know your stuff??
Review of The Empire Movie Quiz DVD by bluetedgirl

Advantages: 2 levels of difficulty, fun, interactive
Disadvantages: Interface can be annoying, questions do repeat

...have to say its only the 2nd DVD interactive game i've ever owned. You do not need a computer, but it will play in it if you did, all you need is a tv and dvd player and most households have one these days. With over 1000 questions, and up to about 8 different categories to choose from (sci-fi, horror, classics etc) it is very engaging, the disc loads relatively quickly and the options are easy to understand. There are glitches though and quite often, ...
...the same question as your opponent. Its repeat rate, considering it has 1000 questions is very short and can therefore be rather annoying. There are two levels of difficult, but if you pick the harder level you get more points - so you can make up ground if you need to. I'm not sure why Empire, being a fantastic magazine, put its name to a product that, for them, would be considered sub standard. There is a sense that, since the premier film magazine ... Test your celebrity knowledge
Review of Heat Big Celebrity Quiz DVD by pink_champagne

Advantages: Easy to follow format
Disadvantages: No use if you don't follow celebrity

...get to the top of Heat Towers. Heat Towers are a 26-storey building, with floors Z (ground floor) through to A (Top floor). You start as a ‘Z-lister’ on the bottom floor and the more questions you answer correctly, the higher you climb in the towers, until ultimately you reach floor A, making you an A-lister. How many floors you climb at one time is selected randomly before you answer your question. If you answer a question incorrectly, you reveal ...
...lot of celebrity magazines (ironically Heat isn’t usually one of them), and read the entertainment sections of various websites so on the whole I found the questions pretty easy although there are some ridiculously difficult ones thrown in. All questions are multiple choice, and you simply select the answer and press enter on your remote. They are also timed, although I’m not sure how long you get to answer each one. There are over 1000 questions, ... Read review

The Ultimate Sci-Fi Quiz DVD game
Review of Tom Baker's Ultimate Sci-Fi Quiz DVD by ciaofluffymuppet

Advantages: Tom Baker is entertaining
Disadvantages: The game play is slow and irritating

Tom Baker's Ultimate Sci-Fi Quiz starts well - Tom Baker is, as ever, entertaining and he doesn't take himself too seriously. The game allows for one or two player games, and the premise is that you are captain of a spaceship that has fallen through a wormhole and is lightyears from Earth. You were on a research mission, and it's imperative that the data you collected is returned to Earth. Each question you answer correctly brings you closer to Earth; ...
...game there's the added hazard of encountering another wormhole - an incorrect answer here will swap your place with the other contestant if you're ahead and answer correctly. There are 15 categories of questions, ranging from different decades to 'Earth in Peril'. The 'Literature' category isn't really about books, though, more like films based on books. And the questions are weighted towards 'classic' sci-fi, so unless you're a real sci-fi fan ... Read review

I do, do you?
Review of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Interactive (Wide Screen) by sunmeilan

Advantages: Good fun for the odd occasion
Disadvantages: Annoyingly slow; too much Chris Tarrant

...with an interactive DVD of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. All of us enjoy the show, although I don't watch it as regularly as I used to, and looked forward to our first game. Generally, it was very enjoyable and we will certainly use it again in the future - but I think it has a few niggles that will make it a Christmas game rather than something we use on a regular basis. The game is, as you would expect, very similar to the television programme, ...
...it, I'll explain the whole process from the beginning. If you don't like Chris Tarrant, this is a bit of a problem, because he pops up left, right and centre. His first appearance is to explain the concept of the game, which is slightly different from the television programme in that it is for more than one person at a time. The game is for up to four individuals/teams; each team chooses a topic, of which there is a choice of three - general knowledge, ... Read review
