Hotpants Workout - It really works!
Advantages: good fun, dance routines make the sessions fly by! Disadvantages: lots of stomach crunches towards the end ;-/
...off and throw it in the trash after watching just the introduction to this workout, yet my opinion was soon to change after getting over the initial annoyance of the backing music and the fact that I could never, EVER be as toned and beautiful as the dancers showing me the moves! This DVD provides an excellent workout, with the steps explained to you well, even if some of them take a little practice! I now use this routine as part of my daily work ... ...up a lot since beginning the workout a few months ago, it really does work- and you can feel the evidence of that after even one session! There is an excellent variety of slow, and fast paced routines and the warm down section in particular- although slightly grueling if you are not a fan of stomach crunches, certainly exercises your body in all the right places! Each routine on the DVD is designed for a different part of the body, and this is handy ...

Get Fighting Fit!
Advantages: It Incorporates Boxing Moves Which Really Make You Feel as Though You've Worked Hard, Split into Good Sections, More Fun Than Plain Aerobics. Disadvantages: I Wouldn't Really Say This Was For People New To Exercise, May Take You Two or Three Goes Before You Pick Up All the Moves.
***INTRO***
Kate Lawler, Champion of Big Brother 3, stars in this exercise DVD with her fitness instructor Rhydian Lewis. Boxing moves are incorporated into the exercise routine which lasts for roughly an hour. You can purchase this from Amazon for £5.97.
***WHAT THE DVD CLAIMS***
They say that this workout will tone the whole body, assist in weight loss (when combined with a healthy diet), work the heart and lungs, burn fat, and relieve stress.
... ...that this DVD could assist with weight loss because it does raise the heartbeat and it is an intense workout. Additionally I think it could help relieve stress as you can release your aggression on the punching and kicking sections.
I don't doubt that this workout will tone your body if you stick to the routine and do the DVD on a regular basis (perhaps at least twice a week). I think that it would tone the 'whole' body because it:
- Concentrates ...

BOLLYWOOD
Advantages: gives a great workout, especially to arms and hips Disadvantages: probably wouldn't be good for beginners
...video combines aerobic movements with Bollywood dance.
The video starts with an introduction, and then Honey shows you all the different hand positions and movements, the head movements and the hip circles before you start the dance. Some of the moves are quite tricky at first, but you get used to them the more you watch the video. If like me you do a lot of exercise videos I think you will like this one as it’s a little bit more challenging than ... ...The next section is the Bollywood workout. This is a longer section which teams the Bollywood hand movements with standard aerobic movements such as side steps, squats and marching on the spot. If you are not used to exercise or dance I think some of the movements may be a little bit difficult, especially if you are not very co-ordinated - trust me, I had no co-ordination at all until I started doing aerobics.
I think this workout is especially ...

Everybody say Ommm
Advantages: A good all over workout. Disadvantages: Can get a bit boring after a while
...Yogaboxing was developed by Joshua Isaac Smith who claims to have been instructing yoga for years despite the fact he looks like he could kick Van Damme's butt in a fight. He created it by fusing together Yoga, Tantra Yoga (the saucy one), Boxing, Aerobics, Tai chi and African dance (!) although there are elements of Taekwondo in there as well. The video consists of 5 sections The wicked warmup, the Hips to head routine, power poses, boxcelerator ... ...look a bit dated now. Joshua is a good enthusiastic instructor and his two trolly dollies behind him are unassuming and easy on the eye. Occasionally one of them turns into a man and back again, basis for an ideal drinking competition. The soundtrack is standard elevator music but is background to Joshua's Mr Motivator like "yeahs"
Overall for a quid I'm happy with it, I might even splash out fifteen notes on the DVD version so I can flick between ...

The other DVD is better
Advantages: Good work-out, all rounder. Disadvantages: Same as Ultimate Challenge, music not very motivating
After purchasing Nell McAndrew's 'Ultimate Challenge' DVD I liked it so much that I decided to buy the earlier 'Peak Energy' DVD to vary my exercise routine. 'Peak Energy' has a cardiac section, a weights section for arm toning and a floor work out section. I was aware from reviews that this DVD was similar to the 'Ultimate Challenge' DVD but when I watched it I was amazed at exactly how similar it is!!!!! I could see no difference in the cardio ... ...is in the floor work out at the end. Frankly, I feel a bit ripped off because of this. The music on 'Peak Energy' is vertually just one continuous beat whereas the music on 'ultimate Challenge' has some motivating moments. If you are considerring one of Nell's DVD's I would recommend 'Ultimate Challenge' and not 'Peak Energy' and definately don't bother buying them both!!!!! ...
