You definitely get a good workout!
Advantages: Everything Disadvantages: None so far
I've always been a bit skeptical with fitness DVD's. I never believed they'd really achieve anything and that they were more of a "soft touch" approach to exercising. I'll happily admit that when I started using this DVD I was proven wrong. It provided me with a really tough and demanding workout that over time would really provide good results.
The DVD
You have five sections:
Engage Your Body Warm Up: A routine that gets your body warmed ... ...lies ahead!
Fat Assault Aerobics: Here you do a range of different things including cardiovascular exercises, streches, improving your flexibility, coordination and agility amongst other things. This burns off loads of calories as your heart is pumping and you don't stop being active!
Combat Manoeurves: A very, very intense alomst military style workout where you focus on routines based around kicks and punches.
Target and Tone: The section that ...

Derren Brown - gets inside your mind!
Advantages: A jack of all trades Disadvantages: Not his best work
***Why I watched Derren Brown: Inside your mind*** I have only recently come across the amazing Derren Brown since I have watched the recent tv shows 'The Events' and 'The Specials'. After watching these shows I have been looking for other programmes he has introduced and found 'Inside your mind' and I have also read his latest book 'On Deception'. ***Derren Brown*** Derren Brown was born in England and his talent has been been portrayed in a number ... ...a somewhat unappreciated painter. Following a law based education Brown was inspired to start work as a conjurer, leading into hypnosis and also to mind reading performances. These array of talents have led to the unusual variety of opinions people have when it comes to Brown and what he actually does. Brown is something of a rarity as he is unique and he can predict, suggest and control human behavior. However Brown has openly admitted that he is ...

Entertaining journey through celebtrity family trees
Advantages: Entertaining, engrossing, intriguing, at times sentimental, very pleasant viewing Disadvantages: Geneaological research is limited to trace back only about 150 years
...elders from one's childhood community, who are still living and can provide information about other family members who had passed away too long ago for the host celebrity to recall. Then all possible archives of communities, schools or places of employment would be searched for more details as well as additional branches of the family tree. We learn about how people lived, what sort of work they had to do, what difficulties they had to overcome, ... ...after them. There are many emotional moments, where the hosting celebrity might even break down sobbing, when confronted with the incredible hardships family members only a few generations back had to endure. There is plenty of humor in each episode, and plenty of wonderful moments where memories are cherished and pleasantries exchanged. For those reasons alone, this series is a joy to watch. The one detail I would find fault with, is the fact that ...

Win yourself a million from the comfort of your armchair.
Advantages: Recreates the thrills and tension of the show. Somewhat addictive. Disadvantages: Questions are repeated perhaps too often.
Who Wants to be a Millionaire has been on our TV screens since 1998, and has confirmed itself as one of the most popular and compelling gameshows in history. Before the release of this and the computer games based on the show, we were helplessly shouting at our screens, urging the contestant to pick what we thought was the right answer to the questions. Now thanks to this simulation DVD game, we can now play the game for ourselves in an experience ... ...to actually sitting opposite host Chris Tarrant than actually appearing on the TV show. The rules are simple. Answer 15 multiple choice questions correctly in a row to win a cool million pounds. Sounds easy, and you even get 3 lifelines to use along the way (50/50, phone a friend and ask the audience). It's not so easy unfortunately, as the questions get increasingly harder the further up the money ladder you go. At any point you can take the money ...

Is Golden Balls worth a golden nugget?
Advantages: Keeps with the TV show. Disadvantages: Not a lot of room for tactical play. Format isn't suitable for a DVD game.
When Golden Balls came onto our TV Screens in 2007, I failed to get a grip on what exactly it was. The rules are complex, and after a long day of mental strain, I couldn't really be bothered to persevere with it. Nonetheless, I managed to and (after about 5 shows) I had a rough understanding of the object of the game. It is presented by Brummie comedian Jasper Carrott, famous for his stand up and acting roles over several decades. Once I understood ... ...on me, and I made a habit of tuning in, which led me to purchase the DVD game upon its release. So the rules (the hardest part of writing this review by a long shot). There are 4 contestants to start with, and each is given 4 'golden balls' at random, which contain either any amount between a tenner and a cool £75,000, or a 'killer'. Killers are like the spawn of Satan, but they only take real effect in the final game (more of which a bit later). ...
