I first discovered Brodsworth Hall quite by chance. I was visiting nearby Cusworth Hall and took a wrong turn, but faced with a huge country mansion in front of me I didn't actually realise for a while that I was heading towards another hall. Once I realised my mistake I headed off in the right direction to Cusworth Hall but the image of this hall nearby always stayed with me.
It was about a year later when I was thinking about somewhere to take some friends when I remembered this other hall and off we set. Brodsworth Hall claimed to be one of the best preserved English manor houses in existence but this is a boast that I had heard many times before so when I arrived my expectations were not all that high. First impressions however are usually a good sign and I was right to presume that something that looked so good from the outside ...
Advantages: Visual + Audio Showcase of a live session Disadvantages: Could of been more of the show on the 2nd DVD
What an excellent DVD.
Comes in 2 DVD edition, but the 2nd DVD is more the 'Making of' type of thing that you generally get in a 2 DVD set.
The first DVD - is the actual show that went on in Gelredome Arnhem on 29/30th October 2004.
25,000 tickets were sold for this show, one of the largest in the world to attend to watch / listen to just 1 single DJ.
The actual event itself lasted for approx 8 hours, with a cut down 200 mins on the first DVD of the actual show.
If you like DJ Tiesto, then I highly recommend getting this DVD, especially if you have your DVD player linked to your AV Receiver / Surround Sound System, will sound truley amazing.
Go and get yourself a copy from your local store. ...
Advantages: Fantastic night out; professional performance Disadvantages: Set only lasted 1 1/2 hours
The last time the Beautiful South played in Nottingham, they played to an almost capacity Arena, nearly 3 years ago. This time the venue was smaller ? The Royal ConcertHall ? and it was a sell out. Once again, it was a top class performance from the band who have been gracing our charts with their individual style for the past 15 years.
The Beautiful South have just released a new album, ?Gaze? and this show was as part of their Gaze tour taking place throughout November up and down the country.
For me, it was the third time I have seen the band live and not once have they disappointed.
To get proceedings kicked off was an interesting warm-up act going by the name of Magnet. When this was announced in the foyer, we assumed this would be a group. What we actually got was one youngish looking lad, playing a beat box ...
