Advantages: The start of it all...
Disadvantages: Not as good as later seasons

...The Simpsons started out life as a cartoon short on the Tracy Ullman show back in 1987. After a couple of years it was successful enough that the started making full length episodes and this is where the simpsons as we know them today started. The animation isn't very good, and the backgrounds were a bit bland, but you could see even back then the show had great potential. So here we get introduced to the family: Homer, the loveable but clumsy dad, Marge, the ever-suffering housewife, Bart, a mischievous 10 year old and Lisa, the brains of the family. Homer's voice was still a Walter Matthau type low pitch, but that begins to change after this season. Advantages: Awesome episodes - a classic t.v. sitcom produced to be as the original was
Disadvantages: not sharper image, no extras

...leg from the morge where he brought it home from one of his classes to write an essay on it. He decides to strap it to the front of his car instead in the 1st episode! The DVD is a simple set up and plays striaght on to the episodes, you can select play all, or view one by one. It contains the whole of series one of the young ones. The episodes are as follows; 1. Demolition. This is the first one ever and we see an intro duction to all the characters, including the landlord who has various other roles throughout the series. The basic plot appart from setting up and introducing characters is that the guys are living in their accomodation they have done for some time when one day they recieve a letter from the council informing them that their house is to be demolished. Naturally Vyvyan throws a tantrum and decides to beat them to the job... Read review

Advantages: Good Entertainment from americas greatest family
Disadvantages: non as far as i am concerned

...lost an inch of there talent in 19 years, 400 episodes and many hours of laughter that the simpsons have provided us with. In this season we see some of the very fist experiences and mis-haps that the simpsons face such as \"homers nite out\" where he is caught on camara dacning with a stripper by bart, and we see bart praised ofr being extordenly intelligent after cheating on an IQ test, and his trip to france with involved bart learning a hard lessons from the french, another top event in this seaosn is when bart steals Jebadiar springfields head from a statue, there are many other interesting events that are experienced in thsi season and i highly recommend as a first buy to the simpsons DVD collection and certainly a great gift.
