I was looking forward to this, my wife was out, the kids were in bed, and I settled down to watch the unfettered violence that Smokin' Aces seemed to offer.
Oh. Dear.
The basic plot is that Jeremy Pivens has a contract on his head, and a whole bunch of wacky assassins, bouny hunters and FBI men head to bring him in or kill him.
The first big problem is that most of these characters never meet, what should have culminated in a huge hotel-filled brawl is cut short by most of the cast being bumped off prior to the main kill.
And then several have a change of heart, and those that appear to have died pop up again with minor flesh wounds.
And it ends with quite the most nonsensical twist ever written, which is worse as it's sign-posted from the start, and I spent the majority of the film hoping that it won't be as daft as I'm expecting. I was wrong it's worse.
