into our livingrooms like zealous labrador puppies under the guise of The Smell Of Reeves and Mortimer on September 21st 1993.
But with Aunty Beeb nestling them to her bosom could they possibly continue their boyish antics?
Yes and No.
Some characters have another big night out..
The lovely brothers Donald and Davy Stott continued to wear bad clothes and rant about marzipan while hosting their own Question of Sport (Not Real Sport) and host their own chat show.
Greg Mitchell , the golden retriever, 'Oh no my wife's gonna kill me when she sees this' makes a guest appearance from Vic Reeves Big Night Out alongside new cockney geezer Corky the dog
New Characters included:
Uncle Peter : The wild haired retro clad uncle who shouts 'Donkey' and 'Don't put me i'n't' dark place'. A bit too long sometimes I thought ...
Advantages: Still Funny, Well Priced, Decent Documentary Disadvantages: May be too bizarre for some tastes
Pure joy and elation come close to describing what I felt when I heard that Vic Reeve's Big Night Out was coming to DVD. After sprinkling some golden grahams on a shrimp's eye that night I instantly put it on my Christmas list. And thanks to bearded one I was in possession on a garish orange coloured dvd on that holy day.
Vic Reeves Big Night Out started life in a room above a pub in London. Slowly it grew a fan base as people turned up to witness the mayhem of a show unlike any other. After moving to a bigger venue, the show got a lot of recognition and subsequently got snapped up by Channel 4.
The show captured the zeitgeist of student culture at the time because it was different from anything else. To this day it remains original, very funny and incredibly bizarre.
The concept of the show had Vic Reeves presenting a variety ...
Advantages: What can i saw, it's the best and it can be yours. Disadvantages: There was only 12 episodes made, but Bangbang is just as good
Vic: "I am, alas..."
Bob: "But Vic you have no knockers!!!!!"
Vic: "Could you wait til I've finished?"
Bob: "Oh I'm sorry."
You either love them or you hate them! Vic Reeves (Real name is Jim Moir) and Bob Mortimer, they?ve been delighting our screens since Big Night Out, made Mark Lamar look ridicules (Which isn?t hard) in Shooting Stars, came back from the dead in Randell and Hopkirk (deceased) and now Vic is off investigating on his own (You can catch it on UK Play)and created even more hilarious characters in Bang Bang. Personally, my all-time favourite will always be Smell of Reeves and Mortimer. And, if you didn?t know already (Where have you been?) you can own the whole 2 series? on video! If you like obscure humour (People hitting people over the head with a rather large frying pan and the like) then you will love Vic ...
A collection of sketches from the comedy duo's television series. Highlights include a homage to Slade--the 1970s glam-rock group--with Paul Whitehouse and Mark Williams.

DVD Description
Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer display their own inimitable brand of anarchic and surreal comedy in a set containing both series of THE SMELL OF REEVES AND MORTIMER. Having switched from Channel 4 to the BBC in 1993, the duo introduced a host of new characters for their loyal fan base. These included the spoof folk duo Mulligan and O’Hare, the bra-wearing men, and their own take on the glam rock group Slade. The series mixed studio-set comedy silliness with pre-recorded sketches, the latter of which frequently involved parodies of other television programmes. Slapstick violence involving large frying pans is frequently used. The second series of the show returned in 1995 and continued to display Reeves and Mortimers’ offbeat and bizarre sense of humour.
