Slipknot are an American band from IOWA. They have had loads of line up changes since they formed but since 1999 it has remained the same: Sid Wilson, Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Mick Thomson, Joey Jordison, Craig Jones, Shawn Crahan and Paul Grey. They mainly have growled vocals but also include a lot of Melodic singing and some rapping. Many people dismiss them for the fact that their music was nu-metal. Their latest album "Volume three: The subliminal verses" proves that there is a lot more to them.
Up To Our Necks
Up to our necks is an unauthorized documantary of Slipknot. As it is umauthorized then it has no actual Slipknot songs, but in this case it doesn't ruin the DVD. This includes a 60 minute documentary, featuring interviews, some of which are with the band. As well as this it has bonus features. They are Unseen footage and interviews. The documentary follows the band from the days of Mate.feed.kill.repeat, their debut album, to when Corey joined as their new vocalist.

My Opinion
I own "Welcome to our neighbourhood", "Disasterpieces" and "Voliminal:Inside the nine". These are all official Slipknot Releases. Because of this, they all are way above this DVD. Having said that, this DVD isn't that bad. It's entertaining the first time you watch it before getting a little tenacious the second. The main problem i have with it, aside from the fact it has no Slipknot Music, is the price. The RRP is £12.99 which is far from the amount i would be prepared to pay. (Luckily i didn't pay because i watched it around a mates) I would reccomend it to fans but i would also say it's best to buy second hand, as you can save a few quid.
It's available new from amazon for £12.99 or second hand for £5.80.
Thanks for reading Joe 2008
