Sliding doors is one of my all time favorite films! made by director Peter Howitt he has really made a different kind of film that makes you use your brain. It follows the life of helen (actress Gwyneth Paltrow) Who works in PR and lives with her writer boyfriend, unbeknown to helen her boyfriend gerry (actor John Lynch) Is cheating on her with an ex girlfriend, Helen goes to work as normal but gets sacked due to sexist male employees! Then the story really starts, Helen gets into the lift and makes her way to the tube station, then the screen splits, One helen catches the train, whilst the other helen misses the train ( They are both still the same person the story follows would would and wouldnt have happened if she caught or missed the train) The helen that misses the train has to get a taxi and gets mugged therefore she misses catching her cheating boyfriend in bed with another woman so the story follows her down the path of having a cheating boyfriend, whereas the helen that catches the train gets home and finds her boyfriend in bed with another woman, moves out, starts her own buisness and meets a man (actor john hannah) Just shows you how one little thing can change your life! I loved this film, the actors/actresses, the way it was set and most of all how the two helens have very different lives all from ,missing or catching a train, Some people find it hard to follow so that may be a downfall? all and all i rate this 10/10 great chic flick movie and great for a night in with the popcorn and icecream
