Advantages: A strong British sitcom Disadvantages: Still has it's odd critic
Name a decent British sitcom from the last 5 years....now name one that isn't written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant....or David Mitchell and Robert Webb...all you're left with (in my opinion) is a little known sitcom written by Ruth Jones and James Corden that has escalated from a bit-part in the schedule of BBC Three to one of the most loved comedies of recent years - Gavin & Stacey.
The story goes of two people who have never met, Gavin (Matthew Horne) and Stacey (Joanna Page), but eventually decide to do so after months of chatting to one another over the phone. Upon meeting in the middle of Leicester Square along with their best mates, Smithy (played by Corden) and Nessa (Jones), they hit it off and decide it was one of the best decisions they ever made. The same can't be said about Smithy and Nessa however...

Advantages: distracts the children Disadvantages: not funny, humour very simple and mostly slapstick or toilet houmour.
and has ruined the image of Mr Bean for me. At first I was curious and quite excited - I had hoped the comedy would be on the same lines as the original but I was wrong.
The soundtrack is mostly orchestral with symbols, drums and flutes to emphasise dramtic turn arounds and Beans thoughts. The vocals, as the televised original series is basically mumbles and whimpers with the odd 'ooooo' sound. Another thing that irritates me is the fact that they have tried to modernise him and have given him a girl friend, not that that ever get together, lord no, what would happen to teddy, where would he sleep!? Irma Gobb is more a romantic interst whom Bean tries to impress, but rarely suceeds.
In this single DVD volume you get 8 episodes, each lasting about 15minutes in length and include; 'In The Wild', 'Missing Teddy', 'No Parking', 'Bean's Bounty ...
In the autumn of 1986 a unsuspecting TV nation was introduced to a new kind of hero, who made Rambo look like Pee Wee Herman: a trigger-happy lawman whose hatred of criminals is only matched by his love of excessive force. Features episodes from the first series of the programme.
Unleashed on an unsuspecting television audience in the fall of 1986, Sledge Hammer centers on a renegade police detective (David Rasche) whose credo is shoot first and ask questions six months later. Armed with his trusty .44 magnum, the eponymous hero doles out his unique brand of justice to any piece of criminal scum who is unlucky enough to cross his path. The recipient of critical praise and much controversy, this comic spoof of DIRTY HARRY has enjoyed a growing cult status since it left the air in 1988. This 4-volume collection includes the entire first season of the all-nonsense cop show.
