Advantages: It's full of breathless action and has incredible energy. Disadvantages: It's got bargain bin production values.
After the electrifying events of ?Crank?, Chev Chelios could really do with some rest and relaxation. Instead he has to chase all over LA in search of something very dear to him that a Chinese mob boss has stolen; his heart. Things are further complicated by the fact that Chev?s ticker has been replaced by a battery-powered substitute that needs regular jolts of electricity to keep it pumping. Battered, bloodied and bruised he has to fight his way through various underworld factions, coming up with evermore inventive ways of keeping his adrenaline surging.
2006?s ?Crank? was a ludicrous and stupidly entertaining modern-day take on the exploitation film and if you enjoyed it, then you?ll love the sequel! Writer-directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor return with the same anarchic, breathless directorial style-over-substance approach ...
Advantages: Good action sequences, good special effects, Jason Statham is good Disadvantages: A silly plot
on a rampage across Los Angeles to catch the man who did this to him, but more importantly to keep himself alive.
Obviously the premise of this film seems utterly ridiculous, and to be honest so does the name of Jason Stathams character but that is what I liked about this film. It didn't seem to pretend to be anything but what it is - a high-action violent flick with an unrealistic plot line. However, it is really this silly idea of adrenaline keeping poison at bay which allows the film to get so full of action and consequently the entire duration of the film is energetic and crammed full of action from beginning to end.
Statham seems to have pidgeon-holed himself into the same sort of roles, as I've never seen him do anything other than the action hero in films, from films like The Transporter series to the more recent War. But it really is ...

out, which were incredibly funny those being, where Chelios stood there with a crowd of people, watching himself on screen, with nothing but a hospital gown on, that guy was certainly giving him a strange look, you'll find out why? The love he made in Chinatown was certainly the funniest scene in this film; Statham gets warm applause for this. I've enjoyed the film, and I hope anyone with a taste for humour does too; it's definitley one I would watch again, and would certainly recommend this title to anyone who loves action, suspense and comedy. I've heard they're making a follow up to this, if they are or already have, I'm just wondering if it's going to be anything like this one. I reckon this first Crank title was one of Jason Statham's finest roles!
