No matter how many adjectives you pile upon this show, there simply aren't enough words to describe the incredible talents of everyone involved in creating a show that should be the bench mark for fellow TV shows and aspiring writers or directors for the future. Season five ties up all the lose ends in what has been an emotional roller coaster for not only the characters but for the viewers too, keeping us both glued to the screen and dreading the end which inevitably is heading our way.
The quality of this, and all the seasons for that matter, shines through when you realise that you're not being spoon fed the storylines or side stories in the way other tv shows seemingly do. It really is a lesson to the likes of Lost and Prison Break who, although in parts are written well, aren't in the same league as Six Feet Under who's cleverly written scenes and character development are in a universe of their own.
Alan Ball clearly had a job on his hands coming up with a final season of this epic drama and duely delivers. It appears that the obvious pressure of concluding what has been a consistently brilliant show brought out the best in him and everyone involved. Nate, David, Claire, Ruth and all the characters we've come to think of as a family of our own, enthrawl us with some of the greatest scenes we'll ever see on our tv sets. We'll be laughing and almost certainly sobbing throughout the final 12 episodes, especially the season finale which is as close to television perfection as you physically possible.
Six Feet Under as a whole is an absolute priviledge to watch and a show that will take something really special to be knocked off, in my opinion, the number 1 spot in television history.

The series carries on from the fourth series.We see the marriage of of ... ...that play the characters in Six feet under are incredible.Some of the stuff that they have to do is not something that some Actors or Actresses would do.They make you feel like you know these people.They also make you realise that things that they have to encounter can be overcome

Featuring stellar writing and directing, SIX FEET UNDER boasts an outstanding ensemble cast featuring Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Frances Conroy, Lauren Ambrose, Rachel Griffiths, Freddy Rodriguez, Matthew St. Patrick, Patricia Clarkson, Kathy Bates, and many others. Created by Alan Ball (the screenwriter behind the Oscar-winning 1999 film 'American Beauty'), the HBO series could arguably have been called the best show on television during its five-season run. Gaining loyal fans with its complex and involving characters (many of the show's stars came from theatre backgrounds), the series also stood out for its serious themes, its dark humour, and Ball's use of surrealist imagery. The show focuses on a dynamic Los Angeles family that operates a funeral home in the lower levels of the house where they live. When the patriarch of the family dies (in the first episode), his sons are left to run the business, their shared responsibilities producing a constant tension. While the plot often veers from this premise, it always eventually makes its way back to the Fisher and Sons Funeral Home (later changed to Fisher and Diaz when Federico becomes a partner). Each week, the story behind each of their clients serves to distract the Fisher brothers from what's going on in their own tumultuous lives and those of their multigenerational family members. The fifth and final season is the show's most dramatic, exploring issues of marriage, adultery, adoption, divorce, and death. As some characters move forward in their lives, others encounter setbacks and get thrown off course. While fans of the show found the series' end hard to accept, 'Six Feet Under' attempted in its last (widely interpreted) five minutes to provide viewers with some sense of closure to the intense, real, funny, and compelling family saga that was the Fishers' lives.
