This is a classic film and what's better it has a sequel that in my opinion is a as great as the first one which in my book a lot of films struggle to hold, but this one is fantastic it's a great comedy.
Whoopi Goldberg plays Delores who is a singer who is forced to hide out from her past as her boyfriend killed someone and she was an eye witness, so Delores enters in a witness protection program.
Although this program was more that she bargained for as she was turned in to a Nun and was give the name Sister Mary Clarence, in which this roles was obviously a challenge as this was far from her previous career of a show girl. In order to pass her time the Reverend Mother gives her the task to help out the disastrous choir.
Delores tries her best with the choir and ends up with a slight show tune element, which to the shock of the Reverend Mother as the choir take on a whole new look. The newly talented choir attracts great attention for the church, which is slightly concerning for the Reverend Mother as sister Mary Clarence is supposed to be in witness protection.
This film had me laughing from start to finish. Whoopi Goldberg is fantastic in this part. It's well worth watching and the second sister act is just as good.
