I really enjoyed this film - stylish and violently action packed as well as featuring great performances from Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis and Clive Owen (in three of the main roles). It's inevitable that it has to be compared with Pulp Fiction, after all it is presented in a reasonably similar style and even has a section directed by Tarantino, but somehow I feel that it manages to put his classic movie in the shade!
As a graphic novel adaptation (read: Adult comic) and with that in mind, the monochrome with splashes of colour presentation works really well and gives the film a feel all its own.
Okay there are a few plot holes and leaves you with some questions here and there, but the style and entertainment value makes it easy to dismiss these - especially when it was so much fun to watch.
Be warned that it is a VERY violent film with some nudity, but I didn't find anything in any way distateful. Perhaps this is down to the film noir style.
Would I buy this film? Yes, definately. (If I don't get it for Christmas). And bring on Sin City 2.
