DVD Description
Designed for mums following their 6-8 week postnatal check, the gentle yoga programme presented here instructs methods of deep breathing and safe stretching to re-invigorate the body following pregnancy. Devised and presented by Eryl Holt and marion Symes, Yoga Biomedical Trust Yoga Therapists.
Advantages: Positions for birth Disadvantages: Too much talking and not much yoga
...I bought this DVD when I was pregnant with my first baby. I had done some yoga before but was not an expert and thought this looked like a good DVD to help me to stay in shape throughout my pregnancy. Wrong!
A word of warning to anyone who is buying this because of the picture on the front. This fit, young looking woman is nowhere to be seen on the DVD! The lady who actually appears on the DVD is middle aged and wearing what appears to be a curtain! Whilst there is nothing wrong with this in principal, I felt it was wrong to show an entirely misleading photograph on the cover.
The content of the DVD was also disappointing. Although it is quite helpful when watching it for the first time, a large amount of time is taken up by talking and chatting and not much devoted to actually doing any yoga. There are a few simple stretches...

Advantages: Will improve flexibility and tone Disadvantages: Very repetitive and clearly low budget
...The blurb on the box decribes this DVD as an 'exciting and unique programme combining some of the more classic Yoga forms with simple but effective dance techniques to give your body an all round workout'.
Unfortunately I have to say that after doing this DVD two times I won't be doing it again for a while. This is because I found it more repetitive than exciting and honestly have better DVD's to workout to.
The DVD is broken down into three sections. The first two are around twenty minutes long and are Standing stretch and floor work. The final section is the 'freestyle' Yoga dance section.
Standing Stretch
This section lasts around 20 minutes and is made up of mostly Yoga positions such as the tree, triangle etc. It is set on the patio of a hotel and the instructor and a 'guest presenter' (she doesn't say a word, often wobbles...

Advantages: very relaxing, fun, for a stress free day Disadvantages: geri's talking through it, the fact it is all about geri when katy is the teacher
...some things should be done with a teacher (e.g the headstand).
Appearance
This can be bought in video or DVD and the appearance is not eye catching it is quite subtle. In bold lettering it says geri yoga and then she is standing there folding her arms. She is obviously trying to get sales by showing off as much of herself as possible in a very tight vest top with little shorts that are a bit small. She also has a lot of make up on and her hair done looking a bit better than usual. I think it is a bit unfair how in small writing at the bottom it says with Katy Appleton, it should really say Katy yoga with Geri Halliwell because if it wasn't for Katy, Geri wouldn't have a clue where to begin.
The video is split up into 5 different sections, Introduction, Warm Up, Sun Warm Up (Advanced), Geri Postures, Relaxation, Geri Talks. The video...
