Signs is a science fiction/thriller movie. Directed by the amazing M. Night shyamalan who has done many of my favorite movies. . e.g. 'The Happening' 'Lady in the water' 'The Sixth Sense'. It was released in the UK september 13 2002, by Touchstone Home Video.
The Storyline: Graham Hess (Mel Gibson) and his family had been living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. After a night of a confusing event they are told it was a possibility of an attempted burglary, but then they awake to find a 500 foot crop circle in their back garden crop field, then are told extra-terrestrials are responsible. Signs is about a family who come together more than ever and forget their losses to try to survive through this wordly phenomenom.
The mains actors/actresses: Mel Gibson (Rev. Graham Hess), Joaquin Phoenix (Merrill Hess), Rory Culkin (Morgan Hess) and Abigail Breslin (Bo Hess), The director himself also plays a small part like he does in all his films.
Signs has won 2 awards and been nominated 15 times.
The Stats: Running time of 102 mins approx. Subtitles in many languages. Rating '12' . . . Language (Infrequent, Mild). . . Sex/Nudity (Infrequent, Mild References). . . Violence (Infrequent, Moderate). . . Theme/Contents (Frequent moderate menace).
The Special Features: The Making of Signs, Deleted Scenes, Storyboard: Multi-angle Feature, M. Night shyamalans first alien movie.
This movie is extreamly good, one of my favorites, good night in at the movies, either rent from your nearest blockbuster or buy from many sites including HMV.co.uk for £3.99 and free delivery. . A bargain if you ask me.
My Opinion: I would rate this movie 5*, has everything a sci-fi thriller needs to have, amazing directing, acting and storyline. Had me edging on my seat quite a bit, just wanting to know whats happening next, you cannot go wrong with Signs. Give it a watch :]

Advantages: Keeps your attention, genuinely jumpy, strong performances from Gibson and Phoenix Disadvantages: Some flimsiness of plot, kids behind us at the cinema :-), predictable ending
