The first question most people will ask after watching signs for the first time will be, "will this ever happen to me? Will it be this scary, this tense, this emotional?" Nobody knows the answer to these questions unless it happens, but Signs is a great view of what could happen if it ever does happen.
Mel Gibson plays Graham Hess, father of 2, and also living with him is his brother, who moved in with them when Graham lost his wife in a car accident. They live on a farm, and one day a 500 foot crop circle appears out of nowhere in their field. It soon comes clear that there are crop circles all around the world and aliens land at or within 1 mile of a crop circle.
The first time you get a view of an alien it will make you jump off your seat.
This is an emotional story that will make you feel scared and sad at the same time, you will get to know how the characters think and behave, this is a truly great film!

Advantages: Makes you think...and keep on thinking for ages afterwards, it has Mr Gibson in it, superb directing Disadvantages: A bit scary to be rated 12 - and all that thinking made my brain hurt
