As a movie lover i assumed i was renting a quality movie with some quality actors(Mel Gibson) however i was soon to learn how unbeliveably slow the movie was to start.

This is undoubtedly one of Mel Gibson weakest films yet. When watching the advertisements on TV i thought the film looked brilliant. You could say all the SIGNS were good. However the trailor was decieving all the action was put into the trailor, (this is literally all the action).

The Movie starts in a sleepy town where Graham Hess(Mel Gibson) looks after his two children with the help of his brother, Morgan (Rory Culkin).

Graham is still struggling to come to terms with the death of his wife and has abandoned his faith, believing that there is nobody there to help us and that we're all on our own in the world. However when a giant crop circle is discovered in the fields surrounding his home, the "signs" may be there that we are not alone in this world. As more crop circles rapidly begin to appear all around the world, it becomes apparent that they are either the result of the world's largest hoax or that aliens really do exist.

The Family soon discovers that the crop circles are used to help the invading aliens navigate around earth. Once the invasion begins, the family find themselves entrapped within the borders of their own home.

The Family also discover the aliens have a weakness to water. This makes the invasion seem pointless as 2/3 of the worlds surface is covered with water.

Overall the film had a potentially good story, but the execution of it is weak. With a slow pace story the film fails to capture the audiences attention. This is a typical American film as the human triumph over the aliens yet again. Although the director is japenese it has an american cast and once again the Americans triumph.

I wouldnt recommend this film to anyone. Don't buy it, don't rent it, don't watch it.

I could not agree with you more with you on this, it has plot holes the size of the alien ships. You done the film a service by not mentioning how 'powerful' the aliens are - in that they cannot break out of a pantry :)

I've never seen this and after reading this op I probably won't. Good review.

I agree, I've seen the film and it is THE worst film that Mel Gibson has stared in.
