DVD Description
Documentary charting the life one of the early pioneers of jazz, Sidney Bechet. The New Orleans native was a consummate musician, mastering any instrument he encountered, most notably the saxophone and clarinet. Revered by his fellow musicians, Bechet composed and recorded many classic songs with the likes of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. This programme takes you on a whirlwind tour of the cities where he found stardom: New Orleans, New York, London, and Paris. Among his peers paying tribute is legendary film director and avid clarinettist Woody Allen.
Advantages: Good acting, Good story line Disadvantages: None!
...instructor. Dre drags along Sidney to the restaurant where Reese and the guy are, and makes a huge scene, and then says that he wants a divorce from Reese then Sidney drags him off by his ear. Literally.
They go back to Sidney's flat and Dre seduces Sidney and they up sleeping together. Sidney conscience soon catches up with her and realises that Dre is still married (but estranged), and she is soon to be married, and she's just slept with her best friend (I think their a bit more then friends now ;) ). In the end Sidney gives back Kelby's ring but is too stubborn to admit that she's in love with Dre. So Dre decides to ask her to go out with him and drives to the recording studio, where shes having an interview and he goes old skool and writes on a piece of paper with a yes box, a no box and a maybe box. And well, the rest is history...

Advantages: Wholesome Entertainment for Pre-Teens Disadvantages: Too Cheesy for the Masses
...In this movie Amanda Bynes plays Sydney White, a girl going off to college with the ambition of following in her mother's footsteps. Her mother was a member of a popular sorority. Sydney is guaranteed a bid, but the 'mean girl' sorority president refuses to let her in the fraternity. Sydney has no choice but to turn to the dorks. Together with her seven dorks she rises up against the evil popular girls.
I am normally a huge fan of Amanda Bynes, but this was honestly not one of her better movies. While it has comedic moments and Bynes' usual clumsy behavior, the story line is cliche and more than a bit overdone. It does have its funny moments, but the pathetic attempt at a bigger humor is just a bit too overdone.
Sydney White and the seven dorks is all too reminiscent of Snow White and the seven dwarfs. Hardy...

Advantages: Resonable updating of a classic tale Disadvantages: Bad jokes, and sickening scenes
...Do you like a mouthful of sick? No neither do I, but that's what your likely to get if your over 15 attempting to watch Sydney White. Now don't get me wrong, this movie will pass the time and I can't deny that on one or two occasions the corner of my mouth twinged. The trouble with Sydney White is that it's all so old, it's all so creepy and almost bum lickingly disturbing. Yes I have just made up my own language to describe this plagiaristic trip into Disney territory.
Sydney White played by She's The Man star Amanda Bynes is a girl on her way into college following the footsteps of her oh so popular mother. White senior (now dead) was a legendary pupil at an illustrious school. Sadly Sydney has little in common with her mother and is a bit tomboyish in her style. This is much to the annoyance of to sorority queen Rachel Witchburn...
