Producer: Aron Warner Directors: Chriss Miller and Raman Hui. Writers: Jeffrey Price, Jon Zack, Peter Seaman, Joe Stillman, David Weiss and J. David Stem. Starring: Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, John Cleese, Julie Andrew, Eric Idle, Rupert Everett and introducing Justin Timberlake.
Released in 2007 this long awaited movie was worth the wait. With the new looking king Harold, (voiced by John Cleese) on the verge of death this movie sees Shrek, (voiced by Mike Myers), Donkey, (voice by Eddie Murphy) and 'Puss in boots' (voiced by Antonio Banderos) on a mission to find Arther, (voice by Justin Timberlake) the rightful heir to the thrown. On setting sail on the quest to find Arthur Shrek is told some life changing news by Fiona, (voiced by Cameron Diaz). Then with Shrek away, Prince Charming, (voiced by Rupert Everett), stirring up hatred amongst the evil section of the fairy tale characters this leads to some very exiting action in the kingdom of Far Far away. With some new characters being introduced into the film, such as Merlin the mad magician, (voiced by Eric Idle), Snow white, (voiced by Amy Poehler), Cinderella, (voiced by Amy Sedaris), sleeping beauty, (voiced by Cheri Oteri), Captain Hook, (voiced by Ian McShane) and many others. We still see some of the old characters from Shrek 2, like The gingerbread man, Pinocchio, the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. In this movie the heroes are seen to be the ladies, Queen Lillian, Fiona, Cinderella, Snow white and sleeping beauty, their characters being portrayed as they were are in the books. Some excellent writing and hilarious ideas makes the 'girl power' scenes fantastic to watch. With Prince Charming being his usual arrogant self, and his need for revenge over his mother death, plans on slaughtering Shrek and then ruling 'Far Far away'. With this being the third film in the series you may expect it to fall a little short of ideas and humour, but again, the writers have surpassed themselves with some hysterical scenarios involving the usually pleasant fairy tale characters. Although falling slightly short of the first two Shreks for continuous humour this is another great movie for the entire family and will finish the trilogy off perfectly. Should there be a Shrek 4..? In my opinion, NO…. this fantastic trio of movies could easily be spoilt with a badly made fourth film.

I hope they don't make a 4th as it could really be a disaster! Rebecca Xx

Great review, i went to see the film at the cinema last summer and all in all i wasnt too pleased. The production was well made, though it just lacked some edge that would have made it really stand out.

Advantages: Puss in Boots steals the show, some flashes of good humor Disadvantages: Short film length, mediocre for most parts of the film, poor ending
