Shrek the third
I am reviewing the newly released movie Shrek the third – he third edition of the fantastic Shrek.
Shrek 1
Shrek is a big green ogre who lived in a swamp, alone and loved it, until one day his swamp was invaded by all the fairytale creatures who had no where else to go. Lord Farquay sent them away from their homes and they ended up at the swamp, when Shrek heard this he & his new friend donkey went out to find this Lord Farquay, and he send Shrek on a mission to find a princess – if he found her and brought her back to the lord, he will get his swamp back. Shrek & donkey head off on this mission where he has to overcome obstacles, to find this princess and when he does, he just acts like a typical ogre, not a prince charming as she has hoped. However the 2 can’t stand each other at first, but when they begin to spend time together they get along very well, and of course he falls for her. But as she was a human princess and he was a green ogre, he could never reveal his true feelings until almost too late. The princes has a big secret – She turns into an ogre after dark every night as she is under a spell and she must meet & kiss her true love before sunset then she will remain human forever again, so she is willing to marry Lord Farquay
until Shrek gate crashes the wedding and reveals his true feelings for her. Kisses her and she then becomes an ogre as she becomes loves true form. They marry
Shrek 2
Just after their honeymoon, Shrek and Fiona have to visit the land of far far away, where the king and queen (Fiona’s parents) live and they wish to meet their new son in law. Off the go to meet the parents with donkey and to the king and queens dismay, their daughter is an ogre. Hey sent a prince – Charming out to rescue the princess from the dragon protected castle, however Shrek got their first.
The king is not too happy with the choice of his daughter’s husband, and arranges a little friend (puss in boots) to take care of him. However, puss in boots does not succeed in “taking care” of Shrek and because Shrek spared his life, puss devoted himself to helping Shrek in any obstacles he came across. Shrek wanted to make his princess happy so he met the fairy god mother who was very unhelpful as she didn’t like ogres; she Shrek donkey and puss stole a potion to turn Shrek and his true love Fiona into humans again. But this got him in trouble with the law as the fairy god mother set him up, as she wanted her son prince charming to be with the princess. However, all works out in the end, Shrek stays an ogre with his princess and live happy every after.
Shrek 3
Fiona and Shrek are at present lining in the castle with the king and queen however, the king is very ill and wants Shrek and Fiona to take over the thrown. Shrek is very set back and really does not think an ogre could be the king of far away. However – there is one other person who could take the thrown if not Shrek – Arthur – cousin to the king. Once Shrek find out this, he, donkey & boots sets off on another adventure to find Arthur and bring him back to far far away.
This was an obstacle as Arthur was only a child – maybe in his teens and had to idea what he would do if he was king, so Shrek had to talk him into it with a lot of persuasion.
Which Shrek was away, Fiona found out she’s pregnant, and is sharing her good news with all her fairly tale friends – Cinderella, rapunzel, beauty, ugly sisters and her mother.
However, their castle was invaded by prince charming that is determined to take over the thrown, and by his side his new loyal friend – all the fairytale villains. And they plan to kill Shrek and take over the castle.
But will Shrek come home and save the kingdom?? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was really funny, I was dreading watching the film incase it was going to make a complete mockery out of the last 2. But I was wrong- the film was brilliant, I thought it was so funny. I had a few tears throughout the duration of the movie. Some of the animation is so realistic; you would think its real and not a animated film. You would love this film - I read in the newspaper that it was rated 1 * by a film critic, but I believe he/she was very harsh as I thought it was just as good as the previous 2, it had it own unique story , still hilarious and all the actors were fantastic.
The music is very different, I didn’t know a lot of the tunes played but they were very good – matched all the scenes they were played on. The soundtrack was not as catchy as the soudn track on the previous two - The songs were not as well known either. In shrek One some of the songs were already out and the public soucnd sing along. I was very impressed with the animation, it was well done – I would love to be able to design an animation like this – I love 3d design.
A Must See Movie – Go see it if you have not already - it’s brilliant
