From the start it goes through a disney like plot that isn't. Shrek is green ogre who just wants to live in peace, as his swamp has been lumbered with fairytale creatures that Hitler like ruler has imprisoned on. So in order to get his swamp back he embarks on quest, along with a talking donkey, to find a sleeping princess locked in the highest tower of a castle surround by a moat of lava and guarded by a huge and very hungry fire breathing dragon.
Upon resucing the princess they begin the journey home only for the Shrek and the princess to fall in love and the princess to reveal a dark secret to Shrek.
Hilarious all the way thruogh. You'll see all your favourite fairytale charecters, from Snow White to Tinkerbell, and a glimple at what appears to be the animators constantly taking the mickey (pardon the pun) out of Disney.
Mike Miers, John Lithgrow, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz lead brilliantly and Eddie Murphy exceptionally funny.
