SYNOPSIS

The film, 'Moon Warriors', centred on a pleasant young fisherman called 'Fei' (Andy Lau). He is a kind-hearted and optimistic young man, who was brought up by the sea, in a harbour called 'Shrimp Village'. Fei enjoys his modest life in his hometown, where they would often fish for food, have a community meal and to play with his pet Killer Whale, 'Ha Wei'. The story begins when Fei was working in the Bamboo Forest one fine day, where he started to notice some of the Bamboo Trees were moving from their grounded positions (Macbeth comes to mind).
When he realised that there was people underneath the earth and was using the bamboo as a breathing tube, his awareness came too late. The army below the ground was a trap to invade and kill 'Emperor Yen the Thirteen' (Kenny Bee), order by his evil brother ...
Advantages: very entertainting Disadvantages: cannot think of any at the moment sorry
, the Warriors character got the most scenes and they were not bad. The other characters are weird but they are just playing their characters and in a way does make the film unique. For example, there is a baseball gang who is dressed up multi-coloured and does not speak.
there is a lot of violent, swearing and a bit of nudity, not recommended for the younger generation. They might get nightmares.

Advantages: Excellent snapshot of the age. Original Disadvantages: Looks a little dated
I first saw the warriors many years ago on CHannel four late at night. It was the kind of neon '80s film (actually made in 1979) that I thought would be good to laugh at before I went to sleep. However I was pleased to find I was wrong. The film, very loosely based on a book by the same title by Sol Yurick, is an action film which also carries a very strong message of loyalty.
The film is set in New York, where the city is divided into areas ('turf') which belongs to different gangs. There are hundreds of these individual gangs and their total combined numbers are around 100,000. The start of the film shows a meeting taking place between the gangs, called by the leader of the head gang. He is proposing a truce and all the gangs to join forces as by eliminating the infighting the can band for the common good.

DVD Description
SHOGUN WARRIOR presents an epic set in 17th-century Japan. One clan, led by the warlord Takugawa Ieyasu (Toshiro Mifune), is locked in a bloody feud with a rival clan. Ieyasu decides that the only way to achieve victory is to send a band of soldiers to Spain to obtain flintlock muskets that will fire even when wet. To this end, Mayeda (Sho Kosugi), Ieyasu's most trusted samurai, leads a party to appeal to the King of Spain (Christopher Lee). However, their difficult journey is plagued by treachery.... The film features spectacular action sequences and an all-star cast, including Japanese film icon Mifune in one of his last screen appearances.
