Sorry have been away I am still getting over having my baby so early. I had preeclampsia again and had to have a C Section. Baby on Scbu and I will get on with writing soon.

Shirley Valentine has to be one of my all time favourite films. This film has several layers and whilst it's funny, a little rude and totally eccentric, it's also moving and heart warming. In fact, you grow to love Shirley Valentine so much so that you feel sorry for her in the end. It's true that all Shirley has ever wanted in her life is to be herself, but because of her demanding husband who values her cooking more than her company and her children who still rely on her for everything she has never had the chance to be herself, to be Shirley Valentine.
Shirley Valentine is in every sense a brave and loving woman with such a warm heart of gold. She cares not only for her family, but for everyone she comes into contact with. Her family life is in such distress that she's very brave to deal with the stress that she faces. When her journey takes her towards independence and sexual awakening she leaves behind her drab yellow and green kitchen in England for the azure and rose colored Greek islands. This is really where her journey begins.
Although Shirley had to say good bye to the wall, "What will he be like, eh Wall? My feller?" she now makes another friend, Rock. But, soon all her lonely days of talking to empty spaces will be filled with the romance and heat of passion as she meets Costas. Shirley Valentine falls in love, no not with Costas, but with life.
This film is like a very good book that you can't put down and when you finally do end it you feel really upset that it's finnished. Shirley Valentine isn't just a film, but it actually becomes part of you like a friend.
I loved Shirley Valentine because of it's heart warming ways and the way it gripped you to your seat. I found I wanted to know more about Shirley find out who she really was and what really made her tick. This film actually gets you involved with it, that you find you want the best for Shirley Valentine and all her upsets start to upset you.
When she laughs you laugh, when she cries you cry when she gets angry you get angry. Oh if only I could stress to you that if you haven't watched this film and like heart warming in depth stories then Shirley Valentine is for you.
