Advantages: DVD extras, the film Disadvantages: Not enough character depth
...The Perfect Storm Stars George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Diane Lane, Karen Allen, William Fichner and Robert Gunton, it is directed by Wolfgang Peterson, and is rated 12.
This is a great movie, based on a true story about a fishing boat and its crew, who set out on a clear day, only to find themselves in the middle of ‘The Perfect Storm’
The film starts with two fishing vessels entering port, with hulls full of fish. The two captains, who are in love, set about comparing their catches, and boasting about their fish. The crews, glad to be home, set about unloading the fish, and visiting the local pub. But unfortunately for Captain Billy Tyne (George Clooney), this was his worst trip ever. Barely getting enough money to pay for the bait and supplies for the trip from the catch, he decides to make a turnaround trip, his last...

Advantages: Stunning effects, some good acting Disadvantages: Seen it, done it, got the T-Shirt, and I knoow it may be a novelty for some very ignorant or dense americans (they know who they are) but, in england, historical information is recorded, so we DO know when your bluffing! (take a friendly hint)..
...one. Obviously an American one would be shot at. Dodging torpedos becomes a habit and so does having bombs dropped on them. Not all that healthy, if at all.
I will not tell you anything more than this; the film involves: hijacking of enemy ships, pretending to be german, capturing the enigma, killing people, (as well as their own crew), sexually transmitted diseases after a night of fun at a dock somewhere, or was that another film?.. I'm not sure..
It isn't overly brilliant, it isn't at all accurate, and yet, the effects are stunning and it is quite a good film.
I haven't told you much, or been overly helpful, but I have hopefully given you some idea of a style of film five decades past its sell by date. Watch it. You may enjoy it. After all, this IS only an opinion....

Advantages: Fantastic dark theatre movie! Fairly decent plotline and good acting. Disadvantages: Rather predictable with some odd lapses in logic.
...ungodly reason, the hull is punctured and the captain is killed. This leaves the uptight ship's nav officer and the callow, self-serving pilot to control the ship. By the time they left their little stasis pods, the ship has already plummeted into a planet's atmosphere.
What no one seems to know, or find out until about half an hour in, is that this particular planet is also inhabited by really nasty flying things that rip apart and eat any warm meat they can find, apparently including each other. Which is an interesting side point; we discover that their feeding times are roughly twenty-two years apart, and that they'll gladly fight and kill each other if sufficently motivated, so how the hell did they last past the last big eclipse? They must breed like rabbits on crystal meth, because they're bloodthirsty as hell.
That aside, the travelers...
