he forgets (until later) that going through snow leaves a track!
However, all in all it’s a happy ending – with Nicholson frozen in the snow!

Overall:
I really enjoyed this film, despite its age (although it has been digitally remastered and restored). It is gripping from start to end, and although after the initial stage, there are only three (or four) actors involved in the film it never gets you that “I want to switch it off” feeling! Lloyd gives an excellent performance as the little boy Danny, as do the other two ...
The Shining is a 1980 horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick which is based a Stephen King novel of the same name. It stars Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall and Danny Lloyd.
Jack Torrence (Nicholson) is a writer who accepts the job as a caretaker of the Overlook Hotel, which always gets snowed in during the winter, and so becomes completely isolated. Based on the novel by Stephen King and directed by Stanley Kubrick, it was made back in 1980, and yet for me and many others, remains a film that has stood the test of time. It is my all-time favourite film and has been for some time - it is one of the few films that I can watch over and over again, and yet I never get bored of, despite knowing precisely how it is going to end. For me, it has everything that I want in a film - great acting and visuals, a creepy atmosphere with a bit of supernatural thrown in, a bit of gore, beautiful visuals and wonderfully appropriate music. I should note here that I have never read the book, so cannot comment on how well it translated onto the screen, although I have read ...
