Advantages: A movie that has hardly aged thanks to hi-def format Disadvantages: None
...There are few movies out there that had quite the effect that An AmericanWerewolfInLondon had on the viewing audience upon its release back in 1981. Because the movie crossed genres of both horror and comedy, it became somewhat an outcast in many peoples eyes. What it did do however was put England back on the map (although it was an American funded movie with an American director) as far as horror movies were concerned, and had what at the time were considered to be revolutionary special effects.
Two Americans on Holiday in the UK decide to go hiking through the Yorkshire moors in the hope of seeing the England fellow American travelers of their age do not usually see. David (David Naugton) and Jack (Griffin Dunne) are not expecting the frosty reception they receive at The Slaughted Lamb, a very local pub in a small village. After...

...managed it with his Evil Dead series and ummm...well the only other is John Landis himself with this movie. Not only is An AmericanWerewolfInLondon very scary and very gruesome at times, but at the same time it has its tongue firmly planted in its progressively rotting cheek that it almost borders upon camp in some parts but just about manages to steer clear. It does exactly what it ought to - the funny parts are very funny and the scary parts are very scary - trust me, you’ll not know whether to laugh or hide behind the sofa, but you will sit glued to it from start to finish.
Our simple but effective tale begins in Northern England, with two American backpackers, David Kessler (David Naughton) and Jack Goodman (Griffin Dunne) trekking across the Yorkshire moors. Tired and with the night closing in around them they decide to take...

Advantages: Both quite good for the money £2 Disadvantages: Film quality of the second feature isnt great.
...The Screaming Skull
This is two film reviews in one review so sorry for the length. This Screaming Skull review was written a long time ago. I just hadn?t got round to watching The Werewolf vs. The Vampire Woman yet. So they?re quite different types of review.
The Screaming Skull is a 1958 black and white horror film directed by Alex Nicol
I knew I was going to like The Screaming Skull from the beginning. A voiceover plays whilst we view a coffin in an empty room.
?The Screaming Skull is a motion picture that reaches its climax in shocking horror. Its impact is so terrifying it may have an unforeseen affect: it may kill you. Therefore its producers feel they must assure free burial services to anyone who dies of fright while seeing The Screaming Skull?
The film itself then starts and a newly wed couple are moving into...
