Review of Sharpe (Special Edition) (Box Set) by Wdolidol

Advantages: One of it's kind, the best of it's kind
Disadvantages: Special effects not brilliant

...information while watching. The actors themselves include the renowned Sean Bean and one of the UK's best folk singers, John Tams, who even writes the theme song! Episode List: Sharpe's Justice Sharpe's Waterloo Sharpe's Revenge Sharpe's Mission Sharpe's Revenge Sharpe's Regiment Sharpe's Siege Sharpe's Battle Sharpe's Sword Sharpe's Honour Sharpe's Gold Sharpe's Rifles Sharpe's Eagle Sharpe's Company Sharpe's Enemy In regard to the special effects, the movies themselves were filmed in the early 90s, however the extras and props are all excellent, I believe all were sets were on location and in Sharpe's Waterloo there is a 'bloody big battle', possibly tipped with Sharpe's finest moment where he gets to see Napoleon. Overall, brilliant! I cannot wait to watch the final DVD. If you want a sample, why not buy a single episode? They go very... Read review

A magnificent film
Review of Kill Bill - Vol. 1 DVD by TallanKhan

Advantages: Not over complicated, easy to watch
Disadvantages: Lacking in quality dialogue

...A truly fantastic film from the master of action films Quentin Tarantino. Kill Bill takes you on a bloodthirsty whirlwind trip that only leaves you wanting more. Kill Bill Vol.1 portrays an imersive world that draws you in without detracting from the real point of the film, the central plot flowing smoothly through the picture and the understated acting making the overall feel of the film as sharp as the swords. This picture will deliver everything the trailer promised us and will leave you hungering for Vol.2. A must see for any Tarantino fan and a definate recomendation to any fan of action films, especilally those fond of Japanese style martial arts pictures. In addition to all of this the animated segment of the film allowed Kill Bill to show a particularly disturbing scene in a way that, if not tasteful, must certainly be credited... Read review

Good family DVD to buy
Review of The Sword In The Stone (Animated) by Taminique

Advantages: Humour, songs, educational
Disadvantages: Short film

...The sword in the Stone is one of the great Disney classics, I enjoyed watching it as a child and still do as an adult. It is humorous, light hearted and you learn a bit about the history and legend of England. The audience identifies with the young Arthur (Wart), as he goes about his self discovery as the true King of England with the help of Merlin the wizard and his pessimistic owl. The story goes that Engand is in the dark ages, in desperate need of a righteous king to save the land. The true king will be identified by his strength to pull a magical sword from a stone. Merlin helps Arthur to realise that this strength is within him and not about muscle. Disney has put a good spin on this story, making it accessible to all ages with humour, magic and songs. I would definitely reccomend this as a family DVD to buy, one of the lesser... Read review
