Advantages: Everything - plot, characters, acting, literally everything Disadvantages: Nothing...if I'm pushed I could possibly say that they are long for single episodes.
...My boyfriend has recently got me completely hooked on the Sharpe series, both in film and in book form, and this was the first of the movies that I saw after becoming fascinated with the books. The two on this DVD are the first two in a series of 16 TV episodes of Sharpe, which when you consider that each episode is 100 minutes long, they would take an awful lot of watching back to back. Although it is the first chronological film, Sharpe's Rifles is not the first chronological novel, which would be Sharpe's Tiger when he starts as a private, but the events described in that book are placed much later in the TV show.

In regard to the special effects, the movies themselves were filmed in the early 90s, however the extras and props are all excellent, I believe all were sets were on location and in Sharpe's Waterloo there is a 'bloody big battle', possibly tipped with Sharpe's finest moment where he gets to see Napoleon.
Overall, brilliant! I cannot wait to watch the final DVD.
If you want a sample, why not buy a single episode? They go very...

...This Opinion is about the Region 2 DVD of EAGLES -Hell Freezes Over with dts sound. I purchased this DVD from www.play.com for £14.99 including delivery and believe me it is worth every penny!
I have always been a fan of the Eagles and they are from a generation which relied on raw musical talent rather than electonic wizadry in a studio, so they have always excelled in live performances.
The concert recording is their infamous come back concert from 1994. The Eagles were once asked when they would play together again, and are quoted as saying "Only when hell freezes over" hence the name of the tour and the DVD.
The song listing for this DVD is nothing short of breathtaking...
1. Hotel California
2. Tequila Sunrise
3. Help Me Through the Night
4. The Heart Of The Matter
5. Love Will Keep Us Alive
6. Learn to Be Still
7. Pretty Maids...
