DVD Description
This collection includes two Sharpe tales: SHARPE'S BATTLE and SHARPE'S SWORD. In SHARPE'S BATTLE, British officer Richard Sharpe (Sean Bean, of course) is charged with preparing the Royal Irish Company, a largely ceremonial outfit led by Lord Kiely (Jason Durr), for their first battle. Sharpe, whose orders are to make their lives miserable, finds an unlikely assistant in Lord Kiely's wife (Allie Byrne), who asks a personal favour of Sharpe in return. As the troops ready to take on the French, one of Napoleon's spies infiltrates the ranks and disseminates an incendiary rumour. In SHARPE'S SWORD, Sharpe--behind enemy lines, as usual--comes up against Colonel Leroux (Patrick Fierry), the best swordsman in the entire French army. Along the way, Sharpe befriends a beautiful mute (Emily Mortimer) who becomes an invaluable ally.

In regard to the special effects, the movies themselves were filmed in the early 90s, however the extras and props are all excellent, I believe all were sets were on location and in Sharpe's Waterloo there is a 'bloody big battle', possibly tipped with Sharpe's finest moment where he gets to see Napoleon.
Overall, brilliant! I cannot wait to watch the final DVD.

Advantages: Stylish furniture competently fitted into your bedroom Disadvantages: Furniture is not of the highest quality.
...Picture it if you will ? it?s the room that was my daughter?s bedroom. She left home many years ago, but somehow there?s still a tennis racquet on top of the wardrobe, a stack of school exercise books in the bookcase and strange pieces of clothing (what can you do with a ra-ra skirt these days?) that are not actually needed where she?s living at the moment but are far too good to throw away, or so she tells me. It?s not too bad when you just close the door on the room, but when an unexpected guest turns up it?s a source of deep embarrassment. Well, you can hardly deny that you?ve got a spare room, can you?
Then came the fateful day. I went into the local town and a Sharp?s Bedrooms showroom had opened. I?d like to say that it was the aesthetics of the window display that drew me inside, but it wasn?t. It was the banner which...

Advantages: Great Story Disadvantages: A little bloody for some people
...One of the middle books in the Sharpe series, the story revolves as ever around Richard Sharpe and his group of Riflemen.
The story begins with Sharpes men interupting a massacre of Spanish villagers by a French Brigidier General. General Loup (meaning 'wolf' in French) is part og an anti-guerilla unit and thus is one of the more horrific soldiers in the French army. When Sharpe executes two of his men infront of him for war crimes he makes and enemy who dogs him and pursues his up and down the frontier, and the enemy is every bit as clever, ruthless and hard as Sharpe is.
The story culminates with Sharpe facing disgrace and ruin and the French and British armies pulled together at the bloody and terrifying Battle of Fuentes de Onoro. Here in the close quarters street brawling battleSharpes future will be decided.
The story...
