Shark Attack! (Fooled You!)

Advantages: Teaches children not to lie
Disadvantages: none

Over the next few weeks I am going review some of my sons favourite books, my mum bought my son this book from a book club in school where she works she paid £8.99 but you can buy it on Amazon for £5.99 with free delivery. The Little Fish who cried SHARK! This is a hardback book with pop up pages, on the front of the cover is a picture of a orange and yellow fish who is called Sprat. You can also see lots of small fish with coral. Sprat is a naughty little fish and likes to play tricks on the other sea animals by shouting "Boo!" to scare them. One day Sprat decides to play a joke on the other creatures by shouting "SHARK!" he creeps up on crab and gives a big yell, poor crab quickly hides in his shell and of course there is no shark. Besides crab we get to meet clam, octopus, eels, and lots of fish in the story ...

Shark attack!

Advantages: Age appropriate amount of information
Disadvantages: None

and the story complete with characters going on around the pictures. The section on strange sharks is, I think, our favourite. We were quite fascinated to learn that there is a Wobbegong shark which lives on the sea bed and look like weedy rocks? all the better to catch their prey. At the end of the book, and almost incidentally, is a reminder that whilst we think sharks are dangerous, they are actually more in danger from us because of hunting. It suggests that if things don?t change then sharks may very well vanish forever. ~~Price and Availability~~ Available online at usborne, and at book shops, this costs £5.99 ~~Other bits of information~~ ISBN: 9780746071410 Published by: usborne books, 2005 Website: www.usborne.co.uk ~~Other titles in the series~~ Dinosaurs Under the sea On the Beach Baby Animals ...

Review of Sharks (Lift - the-flap) - Peter Scott

Ten of my most embarassing moments..

Advantages: I can laugh at myself..
Disadvantages: I forget when to stop laughing..

My ten most embarrassing moments.. ************************************************************** ******** Number 10. I work at a hospital for people with learning disabilities.. I had five patients out for the afternoon, we walked down to the local town and had a look around the market and into a café for tea, and then we took a slow leisurely walk back to watch a dvd on the telly until it was home time and supper time for the lads.. I lost one, (a patient that is) I wasn't alone there were two staff so I don't stand alone to take the blame but there you go, I didn't realise he was gone, we got back to the ward and he was there and had apparently been there since we left, he had decided not to go and turned back straight away before we had even left the hospital grounds.. care in the community eh? boy did I get into trouble ...
