Advantages: Jet Li's fighting capablity and humour Disadvantages: Jet Li's acting isn't as great as his fighting style
...a great combination for any movie. Jet li acted as a young Jackie Chan....funny yet so very skilled in martial arts as well as acting. But if I was to pick out one flaw....it is the imbalance of Jet Li's martial arts skill and acting( and you can guess which one was somewhat improvable!) Nonetheless this movie is a classic in its own right (plus I love this particular genre which came out of Hong Kong movies.....ie the 'action/comedy' genre. In fact this movie was such a hit in china that the Government re-opened many shaolintemples purely for public viewing! Another thing which made this movie a classic is that Jet Li's clichéd use of wire work was mostly omitted from this movie (purely due to the Wushu fighting style.

Advantages: classic first class movie Disadvantages: bad effects
For those Kung Fu lovers, this would be a suitable type of show. There's a lot of ass-kicking scenes where martial arts is practiced.
This is one of the oldest classic type of movie. I definately recommend you guys to watch it. It shows when Jet Li was a young boy. He was very good looking and young.
You are able to see him master his kung fu skills step by step. This is one of the first movies ever acted by Jet Li himself. It plays a cute storyline about monks and the shaolintemple itself and others.
However, if you want a better show with better effects, watch another show but if you want classical shows, I recommend this. ...
Advantages: Jet li's first movie, rare, good story, history lesson Disadvantages: None
of his saviours daughter he goes to save her, only to encounter the warlord who was drunk, making his fighting style hard to defeat as he was using the drunken sword style, which leads to Jet Li developing the Drunken pole style to counter it.
But soon after the Warlord sobers up and makes it harder for him to win leading him to retreat.
The warlord arrives and invades the shaolintemple. and orders for jet li to be handed over, the head abbot refuses and is burnt alive, just as Jet li and his shaolin Comrades come to the rescue.
The Dvd features, contain history of the shaolintemple, trailers of the movie and some of jet Li's newest work, and audio is in cantonese chinese, with english subs, and chapter selection options.
Its also a collectors item for those who collect jet li movies. which makes it a must have for your ...
