Shania Twain - Up! - Live In Chicago (DVD)

...so years ago the name Shania Twain was always said in the same breath as country music.I was never a fan of country music but when she decided to broaden her horizons and take music to a new level with a mixture of what i can only describe as 'country leanings with a pop music edge i was totally blown away by what this lady has achieved.
After hearing a couple of her songs in the charts i was never going to say "That dont impress me much" ...
...not all of us are shania fans but if you want to feel good and foot tap your way around the bedroom or wherever then this is a must buy for you.

There are 22 songs in the concert and they are as follows...

After hearing a couple of her songs in the charts i was never going to say "That dont impress me much" (excuse the pun) because she did impress me with a few songs that were fresh and clean.A far cry from todays mad world of music where everyone wants to pop a cap in your arse.
So,on that note i decided to buy the concert dvd and see what sort of performer she was on the live stage.
Now i would like to point out that not all of us are shania fans but if you want to feel good and foot tap your way around the bedroom or wherever then this is a must buy for you.

Looking cool in a yellow body glove(tight top) and black 3/4 length trousers shania plows through all these songs with energy and a smile to light up the night sky,backed by a group of multi talented band members its a real feel good concert.
Sadly there are a couple of moments which make you cringe slightly and they include three very young girl fans up on stage helping shania to sing "That Dont Impress Me much",well low and behold i wasnt impressed.Probably not a bad as a young guy called onto stage after the end of "Ka-Ching to propose to his girlfriend.
Im still not convinced the guy knew quite where he was to be honest.
Obviously these little moments dont really blot the copy book of what is an excellent concert from start to finish.
An excellent stage with pyrotechnics galore and the end song "Rock This Country" is worth the money itself.Of course there are the usual costume changes but nothing i saw as pure flaunting.
The one thing about this concert that really stood out was the crowd.Plenty of focus on people singing,dancing and generally having a great time.It takes you away for a while from the harsh realities of our world and gives you a couple of hours and a view of what its like to be happy.
Shania Twain delivers songs that are mellow,songs that are foot tapping tunes but never a rude word and that is what makes this good.

Now the dvd cover itself is nothing special and i would like to point out that you may have to tinker with your sound settings to get the best of the atmosphere and vocals.
Main menu consists of audio setup(dolby digital 5.1 surround or dolby digital 2.0 stereo)
I would recommend the surround sound as it brings to life the concert.
Song selection is nice and easy and there is also a discography if you need to see any other titles.
I have since seen Shania in concert and she was as good as i thought she would be.Not sure you will get the chance again so the next best thing is to have this dvd in your collection.
