I stumbled across Shameless on Channel 4 one evening watching late night telly. It was a re-run of an old episode. I decided it had to be better than watching The Mint so decided to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed.
The best place to begin my review would be to introduce you to the family so you can get a feel of the characters and how they relate to each other in the episodes on the DVD.
The Gallagher's are a large family who moved to the ... ...not the best series of Shameless but is very funny none the less.
Storylines including Drunken trips to France, when frank ends up drunk on a park bench in Calais after a night at the local only to be thrown in prison after misinterpretations from an English speaking French prisoner.
Veronica and Kev have a fake wedding to collect money left by Veronica's dad before passing away for her big day. Only for the reception to go up in smoke when her ...

...SHAMELESS - SERIES1 ON DVD
When I first started watching Shameless I was in hysterics. I love the show, it's very realistic. The family are a great bunch and in one way or another, I can relate to the whole cast. I think Paul Abbott did a fantastic job with this! The show is based round a family from Manchester, Stretford. Dad Frank is head of the family, having 6 kids and his wife left him 3 years ago. Chatsworth Estate is where the family live. They have their ups and downs, but they always pull through.
~~~Introduction to Shameless~~~
If you've watched Shameless, you will understand that the only way to introduce this comedy show is to use Franks words.
...I came across Shameless for the first time about a month ago. Of course, I had heard about it before then but I had never actually watched an episode. After catching the end of an episode on channel four during a night shift, I decided I actually quite liked it and had a look on eBay to see how much I could find Series One for. After finding Series One on DVD for £4.69 including postage, I decided to buy it.
ShamelessSeries One was released on DVD back in January 2005 and includes episodes 1-7 from the first series of this fantastic programme.
About Shameless
The series of Shameless is set on the Chatsworth Estate in Manchester and follows the lives of the Gallagher family. You get to learn about each member of the Gallagher family and follow them during their everyday life.
Advantages: You will laught your socks off!! Disadvantages: Can be taken as very rude to people that dont share the same jokes as others!!
...I missed the first couple of episodes when it was on last year, my sister told me that I should be watching it and so I decided to participate!! Oh My God, what a laugh, at one point my dad had to come into my bed room cause he thought something was wromg with me for all the noise I was making!! I would say that you have to be a certain kind of person to enjoy Shamless and there is a lot of us out there who watch it every week without fail. I have made a few of my friends watch it with me and only managed to get one of them hooked like myself!! The reason for this is I think you need to see it from the start, I dont believe it is something you can just turn on half way throught the series and follow fully!! The story starts from episode 1 and then just carrys on and on!! It really is fantastic and my reccomendation to anyone...
