I am a HUGE Sex and the City fan, I had my reservations about the film but I am pleased to say they pulled it off!

For those who are not familiar with Sex and the City the makers of the film give you a quick round up of the girls lives' at the beginning of the film bringing you up to speed with the die hard fans at the end of series 6.

The series follows the lives of four New York woman in the 30's and their relationships with men and of course with each other.

Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) who works a sex columnist turned novelist has been dating Mr Big on and off for 10 years, we have seen them and make up and brake up all over the place, and of course their where a few other big loves in-between. At the end of series 6 Carrie and Big had just got together again.

Charlotte (Kristin Davis) who works in a Art Gallery has had her fair share of bad luck over the years, searching for love she married to Trey then finding she could not have children which tore them apart. At the end of series 6 however she remarried again to Harry and the couple had just been told they could adopt a Chinese baby.

Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) a workaholic lawyer spent plenty of time at the office, feisty and independent she had no ambition to marry. But when she unexpectedly fell pregnant with Brady and after much soul searching she decided to marry her partner Steve and create a family life together in Brooklyn.

Samantha (Kim Cattrall)works in PR and is a woman in the know, you now the phrase 'If you've got it Flaunt it' well Samantha does that and then some. She loves sex and has no problem sleeping with lots of different men, but when she is diagnosed with Breast Cancer her life changes. She meets a young up and coming actor Smith and falls in love.

The film then skips to 10 years later, the ladies are now in the 40's and life has changed some what from the younger care free days. All four are now settled with their partners and everything would appear to be perfect, slowly as the film unfolds we start to find out the everything is not just as it seems.

Carrie and Big are still together and are thinking about moving their relationship forward by moving in together, Carrie is very excited about this idea but has one stipulation, she needs a HUGE wardrobe.
Her friends on the other hands have different ideas about taking the plunge.
Charlotte as always is supportive of Big and wants it to work out for them, Miranda ever the pessimist has serious doubts and Samantha is shocked that Carrie wants to settle down.

Big (Chris North) is back and now called by his real name John, which is a little weird to hear. Big as ever lights up the screen and melts your hearts, I think every girl can understand why Carrie is mad for him.

Carrie has some low times throughout the film and you really feel for her, I can't really say to much with out spoiling it for you, but she has a lot of soul searching to do. Carrie & Miranda's friendship takes a few blows throughout the film which is true to character as they have had their moments over the 6 series as well. Sometimes when you care about someone so much you have to tell the truth even if it means you risk loosing them and I think this is the kind of bond that they have with each other.

Carrie also finds her self a new friend in the form of Louise from St Louis, Louise enters Carries life as her personal assistant. She shares Carries love or fashion and like all the girls he has her own hope of love as well. Louise comes at a time when Carrie really needs as many friends as she can get, not only does she help with Carries website but with her life as well.

Louise is played by Jennifer Hudson who rose to fame by entering American Idol 2004, she had great reviews for Dream Girls 2006 and is now in the legendary Sex and the City! You go girl!

It is great to see Sarah Jessica Parker back on screen as the fabulously dressed Carrie, She has some fantastic outfits in the film , some as always are a little of the wall but when she is asked to model wedding dresses for Vogue Magazine you are truly in for a treat. She is 'The Last Single Girl' in the city according to Vogue but my word she has still got it! It seems she can pull off any look, even a change in hair colour still looks amazing.

Since the series ended SJP as she is now known has done so much, a couple of films a lot of adverts and of course she has now brought out her own clothing range 'Bitten' ! Was she wearing any of it in the movie? that's what I want to know.

Charlotte has taken to motherhood very well and her daughter Lily appears in several scenes through out the film, she is just too cute. Along with motherhood things are going well with Charlotte and Harry and they are closer than ever.
Charlotte is as ever a rock for her friends and is always their to help pick them up when they fall. I personally think Charlotte has some of the best lines in this film and is the main person who made my cry when I watched this film, her faecal expressions are just so good, you can't help but put yourself in her shoes.
Charlotte also has some of the most hilarious moments during the film, mostly due to her prudish attitude.

It is great to see Harry (Evan Handler) in the film, I have to say I love his character, he has a small role as this film is focusing on the girls really but when he does appear it is clear how much they all love him.

Miranda has settled down in Brooklyn with her boys Brady and Steve, they are a happy family on the surface but cracks are appearing underneath. As always Miranda is working hard and making time for dinner with the family or even time to have sex is a struggle for her.
She of course struggles with asking for help but is always around to offer her advice to her friends, even when it is sometimes not wanted. It is this that causes some problems for her and Carrie, especially where Big is concerned.

I have always loved Steve (David Eigenberg) and felt that he was right for Miranda, but I did feel very let down my him during this film, can't say anything else on that I am afraid.

Samantha is now living in LA and has become Smiths manager, she is finding it hard being away from the girls and flies back at any chance she gets. Whenever Samantha appears there is a lot of hugs and kisses as she is obviously not around all the time and dearly missed. Although she may have settled for just one man that does not mean we don't get to see the sexy side of Samantha Jones, she still has a great body and we still get to see it!

I have to say the most noticeable age increase was from Smith (Jason Lewis), he really did look old! I guess it just goes to show that ladies get better with age and men well don't.

A few of our other favourite Sex and the City friends also make appearances in the film including, Stanford Blanch (Willie Garson) Carries best man friend and of Antony Marentino (Mario Cantone) Charlottes man friend and wedding planner.
Also I noticed a the return of the Indian taxi driver who was in the episode when Charlotte and girls where discussing anal sex! Does anyone else remember him??

Before I finish a huge round of applause must got to director Michael Patrick King and writer Candice Bushell, for job well done.

There are some fabulous moments in this film that will make you laugh and make you cry, these girls are so fabulous and really show that you can look good at any age I think it is truly wonderful that they did this film.

I am sorry to be little vague but it is so hard to talk about this film without ruining it for those fans that haven't yet seen it!!
