As you all know I am a huge fan of Sex in the City and I own all the series 1-6, I got them all as presents bought as individual priced series, If you want to save some money and are to impatient to wait to find out what happens next then the Sex and the City box set series 1-6 is the thing for you.
It comes in a very neat pink show box very apt, as the girls Carrie in particular love shoes. Inside it contains individual box set series 1-6.
How much?
The Shoe Box set is priced at £77.97 on Amazon, working out at £12.99 per series, I think mine cost around £130 altogether buying them individually.
Sex and the City 1-6:
I will merely give you a brief outline on the characters and storylines that series 1-6 will take you as fuller more detailed information is available in my indidual series reviews. Each series is about 1 year in the life of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda.
Carrie: We watch her grow emotionally from 1-6, in the beginning she is a hopeful girl looking for love but when she finds it in the shape of Mr Big she has trouble when her love is not returned in the way that she gave it out. Feeling hurt and betrayed by men Carrie then works her way through a few bad dates until she stubbles across Aiden. Aiden is a perfect guy and totally loves her, but when Mr Big wants Carrie back she starts a running and ends up having an affair behind Aiden's back! Carrie then decides to tell Aiden the truth! Why I will never truly understand. Back to being single again Carrie again gets back out their and eventually finds her way back to Aiden again, they give it anther go and end up engaged but it all comes to an end. Carrie then goes back with Big, and then ends it. She then tries things with Jack Berger a writer, he is wrong for her and it all ends on a post it. Then back to Big for a while. She then meets The Russian Aleksander and he romances her and whisks her away to Paris, Big is not happy about this and goes to Paris to look for her, but do they find what they have been looking for?
Miranda: Miranda goes on a huge journey from 1 - 6 she tries on many different guys for size and ends up rejecting or being rejected by all of them. Miranda meets Steve the bartender and they end up getting it together - she is really happy but Steve finds it hard to deal with the fact that Miranda earns more money then him, so they brake up. Steve and Miranda remain friends and when Steve gets testicular cancer Miranda is their for him, after a sympathetic one might stand she finds out that she is pregnant with Steve's baby. After a agonizing decision Miranda decides to keep the baby, but Steve and Miranda stay separated. Baby Brady is born, Steve meets Debbie and Miranda meets Dr Robert, but deep down they have strong feelings for each other. A year after Brady is born Miranda and Steve find each other again and get married and move to Brooklyn to have a family.
Samantha: Sam Jones is a stylish sassy sexy single and proud New York woman in series one but by series 6 we have seen Samantha more intimately than anyone. Samantha has hundreds of very funny and educational one night stands through out the series, we get to see her do it in ways we didn't even think existed. Then she meets Richard Wright, Richard gets under Samantha's skin with his charm and power, and she lets her guard down and ends u falling in love. Richard breaks her heart by cheating on her and she goes back to her old ways again. Samantha then sets her sights on gorgeous new waiter Smith Jerrod and Samantha always gets her man, the couple end up getting it on in various positions. Smith really likes Samantha while she likes to dangle him at arms reach. Suddenly Samantha's life takes a turn for the worse and she finds out that she has breast cancer. Smith stands by her through out it all and tells Samantha he loves her.
Charlotte: charlotte the eternal optimist has a lot of trials to cope with from 1 -6. From the very start Charlotte is waiting for her perfect husband, she dates loads of men sticking to the rules, trying to bag herself her husband. Just when she thinks things are never going to happen she gets swept of her feet (Literally) by Trey. A few weeks later they are engaged and married. Charlotte soon realises why it is best to try before you buy when she realises that Trey has a few problems in the bedroom, it seems married life was not what she thought it was going to be. After a short separation Charlotte and Trey manage to work things out with each other and decide to try for a baby. Charlotte then discovers that she has 15% chance of getting pregnant; this puts a lot of pressure on the marriage and ends. Charlotte eventually gets back out there and as chance would have it ends up falling for her divorce lawyer Harry. Harry was not a perfect man but he is perfect for Charlotte, the only trouble is he won't marry her because she is not a Jew. After some consideration Charlotte converts and the happy couple wed. Charlotte is still unable to conceive so they apply to adopt instead, will they get what they have been waiting for?
As you can see the series are action pack, full of life changing experiences for all the girls, it is addictive viewing! Once you start you can't stop so having all the series right next to you is great for a Sex and the City marathon. This is also the sort of series that you will never tire of so you can watch episodes again and again and again.
