Advantages: I admire the bravery of the Germans who made and acted in this film Disadvantages: Without an understanding about National Socialism this film can be misunderstood
...Hitler, he talks like Hitler; you could almost say he is Hitler. Ganz himself was dumbfounded about just how big the similarity is. In my opinion there would have been no better actor to chose, not only regarding the outer appearance. This intensity and believability shown by his acting make Downfall unbelievable realistic.

On the other hand he is a fanatical racist who unleashed SecondWorldWar regardless of the consequences and brought grief and destruction to many peoples.
The insanity that has driven Hitler is more is pointed out thoroughly in this film. Hitler makes war against the Allies without having any strategic or tactical skills or understanding. He moves...

Advantages: Excellent. One of the best films i've seen in a long time. The german language just adds authenticity! Disadvantages: Subtitles which may not appeal to some
...This has to be one of the best films I have ever seen. I originally saw it on TV about a month ago and the day after I saw it, I went straight into town and bought the DVD. If you're into WW2, the Nazi's or just generally interested in german or even films, then you should DEFINATLY see this film. You wont be dissapointed, I promise you.
Downfall is set in Berlin in 1945 and retells the final days of the SecondWorldWar as recorded in the diaries of Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudl Junge, whilst barricaded with Hitler and his closest confidants in the Fuhrer's secret bunker.
Downfall is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and Hitler is played by Bruno Ganz, who I must say, makes an astonishing performance as history's most notorious figure. You could even mistake him for the real Hitler, if you have never seen the real Hitler in any videos...
