...I ha heard the song by Bob Dylan and had a rough idea of the story but until I had seen this filmI had no idea of how powerfuland emotional the story of Rubins "The Hurricane" Carter was. Denzel Washington has made a career of picking roles that it seems no other actor could play and has the ability to immortalise stories that reflect human nature. This is no exception. The Hurricane is the story of a boxer who is sentenced to Life in Prison for a murder that he did not commit and his 30 year fight to prove his innocence. A wonderfully directed tale of how cruel life can sometimes be. "Hate put me behind bars........But love is gonna bust me out".... Read review

Advantages: Denzel Washington gives a good performance.
Disadvantages: it is a bit depressing.

...I enjoyed watching this film, It is about 'Hurricane' Rubin Carter, who gets wrongly put in jail, and it spans years of his lifetime. It is violent sometimes, but also sad, enthralling and it shows the good and bad in people. The extras -including an interview with the real Hurricane were extremely interesting to watch. I am not sure if I would recommend buying it, unless you are a Denzel Washington fan, but it is definitely a good one to hire. It can be a little depressing at times, but don't let this put you off from watchin it, as it is one of the best films that I have seen all year and I think most people will enjoy it- it is not really about sport....
