'''On the Scream Set'''

Thank god, all that footage they like to reuse has been pretty much kept out of this. Instead it starts by linking together some rather pointless behind the scenes footage of the actors not looking at the camera over a little very light pop rock. In fact…it not only STARTS with this… it pretty much keeps it up the whole way through. A bit of a pointless extra really.

...favourite scary movie?" echoing the Scream killers weird fascination. The answers tend just to give you a list of what the actors like rather than any real insight to them as a person with some lovely lists thrown at us from people we have never heard of (also known as the crew).

Question number two? Why are people fascinated with horror movies? A little more depth to this question, but still the same predictable responses from, ... more

SCREAM THREE TIMES!!!!

Advantages: own them all
Disadvantages: none

The Scream movies have become one of the most biggest scary movie franchises in cinema history. Conceived by Kevin Williamson, creator of the soap Dawson's Creek, the scripts were formed to create a false reality with real life instances. Which then seemed to take on 'a film within a film' role. Kevin Williamson teamed up with horror ace Wes Craven to do all three of these movies. When the original Scream movie first appeared in our cinemas of December ...
...the success it would have. Scream quickly rose to become one of the top-grossing horror films of all time, rivalled only by The Exorcist. The success of the first movie spawned two eagerly anticipated sequels, which kept same writer and director, and also, all the cast who have survived the previous movie. Although there is nothing very innovative about the Scream Movies, they are great fun, which will have audiences kept in suspense throughout ...

Something to scream about

Advantages: Scream 2
Disadvantages: Scream 3

...conventions of its genre. Scream is one of those types of films. Written by then-happening screenwriter Kevin Williamson, horror guru Wes Craven brought the film to the screen. Already known for reworking horror more than once with his classic Last House On The Left and then his series-redefining Wes Craven's New Nightmare, Craven once again ups the ante with this knowledgable trilogy which bases its rules on the existing cliches of horror films. ...
...Returning a year later, Scream 2 had most of its main characters back for the dreaded sequel. Sydney Prescott is now at college away from the horrors of the previous year. She still wears the scars of her terrifying ordeal on her chin, and is extremely jumpy. When the body count starts to rise again, its up to Gail Weathers (Courtney Cox playing it for keeps) and Dewey (Cox' real life husband David Arquette returning to the series) to step in and ...

It's a Scream Baby!

Advantages: A homeage to the original slasher films
Disadvantages: May lose its appeal with the possible release of Scream 4

***Why did I watch the Scream Trilogy*** As a huge horror fan I was excited when the first scream film was released in 1996 because we had not really had very many good slasher films in recent years. I was also attracted as the horror master Wes Craven had directed the film. The trailer look amazing and it promised lots of blood and gore, so off I trotted to the cinema. Scream 2 was released in 1997 and the final Scream 3 in 2000. Again I had to ...
...one year after the original scream and Sydney is now in college trying to get away from the media hysteria that has followed her. Her life story has now been depicted in a slasher horror film called 'Stab' and at its opening night in the town were Sydney is at college two students are brutally killed while crowds watch on thinking it is in fact part of the act! Once again Sydney and her friends are thrown into turmoil as dead bodies start to pile ...

Scream Trilogy - DVD Box Set

Advantages: The special features are excellent
Disadvantages: Unfortunanately, Scream 3 was the very last Scream sequal, but expect another brilliant series of similar films from Wesley Snipes, director.

This special collectors edition DVD boxset on retail for about £50 includes all three scream movies as well as an extra special features disc including various interview, outakes and more. See below for full special features listings. Scream 1 - The first of this award winning thriller trilogy started after a series of mysterious deaths leaves everyone fearing for their lives, as no-where and noone is safe. A group of friends decide that they need to find out the identity of the killer in the scream mask and cape, risking their own lives. The first of the three films, in my opinion is and always will be the best of the trilogy. Trust nobody. Scream 2 - The sequal to Scream. Sidney Prescott (Never Campbell) thinks she has seen the last of the murders and was only just starting to get back on with her life, when the past comes back ...
