I watched Scream about 8 months ago after buying it on video. Recently we bought a new DVD player and I decided to rent out a DVD so I went down to my local shop and rented Scream 2.
I have always been worried about watching “Scary” films but after seeing Scream I knew I’d be ok. I noticed that Scream was 15 and that Scream 2 was an 18 but that didn’t stop me wanting to know what happened after Scream.
Scream 2 stars:
Neve Campbell – Sydney Courtney Cox - Gale Weathers David Arquette – Dooey C.C. – Sarah Michelle Geller (Buffy)
The Characters, Sydney, Gale, Dooey and Randy all starred in the first film and now a whole new cast has been bought into this film as it has a different setting you could say. The last film was around high school and their homes and this film is about them being in college mainly.
The start of the film is the same; there’s murder before the film has shown the title etc. At the start, a couple is at the movies and they are watching a film called “Stab”. Stab is a film that was made after the murders in the first film. Well the murderer who is dressed in a black robe with a mask on kills the boyfriend in the toilets then the girlfriend actually gets killed in the cinema.
Then Neve Campbell is brought into the film after that and the murderer threatens her when he calls her on the telephone. The next murder victim is C.C. She’s all alone at home and is murdered brutally by the killer.
Gale Weathers, the news reporter who is very pushy works out that all the 3 people that have been killed so far all have a connection and it shows that the killer is after Sydney so she has to be protected all the time but the killer regularly bumps into her. The thing is that we all know that Sydney isn’t going to be killed because Scream 3 has been made so it’s obvious that she’s going to survive this film as well.
Randy is killed in the reporter’s van while he is looking for the killer. Dooey is nearly killed, well when he is stabbed in the recording studio you think that he gets killed but at the end you see that he’s not dead. Gale ends up getting shot but survives.
I couldn’t wait until the end, not because the film was bad (because it wasn’t!)…I wanted to find out who the killer was in this film. In the previous film it was Sydney’s boyfriend Billy and his friend Stu. The end of this film is quite suprising I think but like usual there are two killers. I won’t tell you who the killers are because I’ll ruin the film for you if you decide to watch it for yourselves.
This film is an 18 like I said before. This is because it has a lot of murder in it and it’s very bloody so I wouldn’t advise it to anyone who is squeamish. There is strong language in the film regularly but I loved the film, as it was a good film to watch for teens. I think the next film I’ll rent out is going to be Scream 3 to see what happens after this one. If you’ve seen Scream then you’ve gotta see this!
