Once again, movie references are cleverly employed to draw us into the story, which takes place two years after the events ofScream, at a small Ohio college, where theScreamsurvivors reunite when another series of mysterious killings begins. Capitalising on the guesswork involving a host of potential suspects, director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson have crafted a thriller that's more of aScreamclone than a genuinely inventive new story. But the shocks are just as effective, and escalating tension leads to a tautly staged climax that's simultaneously logical and giddily over the top. Background information for trivia buffs: to preserve the secrecy of plot twists, copies of the screenplay were heavily guarded during production and restricted to only the most crucial personnel. When an early draft was circulated on the Internet, screenwriter Kevin Williamson did rewrites, and subsequent drafts were printed with red ink on brown paper, eliminating the threat of photocopying. None of the cast members knew who the killer was until the final scenes were filmed.-- Jeff Shannon

I watched Scream about 8 months ago after buying it on video. Recently we bought a new DVD player and I decided to rent out a DVD so I went down to my local shop and rented Scream 2.
I have always been worried about watching “Scary” films but after seeing Scream I knew I’d be ok. I noticed that Scream was 15 and that Scream 2 was an 18 but that didn’t stop me wanting to know what happened after Scream.
... ...going to be killed because Scream 3 has been made so it’s obvious that she’s going to survive this film as well.
Randy is killed in the reporter’s van while he is looking for the killer. Dooey is nearly killed, well when he is stabbed in the recording studio you think that he gets killed but at the end you see that he’s not dead. Gale ends up getting shot but survives.

I have always been worried about watching “Scary” films but after seeing Scream I knew I’d be ok. I noticed that Scream was 15 and that Scream 2 was an 18 but that didn’t stop me wanting to know what happened after Scream.
Scream 2 stars:
Neve Campbell – Sydney Courtney Cox - Gale Weathers David Arquette – Dooey C.C. – Sarah Michelle Geller (Buffy)
The Characters, Sydney, Gale, Dooey and Randy all starred in the first film and now a whole new cast has been bought into this film as it has a different setting you could say. The last film was around high school and their homes and this film is about them being in college mainly.
The start of the film is the same; there’s murder before the film has shown the title etc. At the start, a couple is at the movies and they are watching a film called “Stab”. Stab is a film that was made after the murders in the first film. Well the murderer who is dressed in a black robe with a mask on kills the boyfriend in the toilets then the girlfriend actually gets killed in the cinema.
Then Neve Campbell is brought into the film after that and the murderer threatens her when he calls her on the telephone. The next murder victim is C.C. She’s all alone at home and is murdered brutally by the killer.
Gale Weathers, the news reporter who is very pushy works out that all the 3 people that have been killed so far all have a connection and it shows that the killer is after Sydney so she has to be protected all the time but the killer regularly bumps into her. The thing is that we all know that Sydney isn’t going to be killed because Scream 3 has been made so it’s obvious that she’s going to survive this film as well.
Randy is killed in the reporter’s van while he is looking for the killer. Dooey is nearly killed, well when he is stabbed in the recording studio you think that he gets killed but at the end you see that he’s not dead. Gale ends up getting shot but survives.
I couldn’t wait until the end, not because the film was bad (because it wasn’t!)…I wanted to find out who the killer was in this film. In the previous film it was Sydney’s boyfriend Billy and his friend Stu. The end of this film is quite suprising I think but like usual there are two killers. I won’t tell you who the killers are because I’ll ruin the film for you if you decide to watch it for yourselves.
This film is an 18 like I said before. This is because it has a lot of murder in it and it’s very bloody so I wouldn’t advise it to anyone who is squeamish. There is strong language in the film regularly but I loved the film, as it was a good film to watch for teens. I think the next film I’ll rent out is going to be Scream 3 to see what happens after this one. If you’ve seen Scream then you’ve gotta see this!
Advantages: Still quite gory, still makes you jump on occasion Disadvantages: Not as good as the first but that was to be expected!
After seeing Scream a good few years back I’ve been eagerly awaiting the sequel (ok, sequels now!) to come out on TV. (You must understand that although Scream 2 has been out on video for a while…. I only rarely buy the video’s!) So, when I was looking through the Weekend TV guide and noticed Scream 2 was going to be shown on Channel 4 I was determined not to miss it! Normally I forget about them until the day after when everyone ... ...If you haven’t yet seen Scream then I guess this opinion will be a little bit confusing. My advice would be to watch Scream first (my mum watched Scream 2 and I got annoyed having to explain who everyone was to her!) Having said all that it isn’t essential to know who they all are before watching this film. ~ Who’s who? ~ Director: Wes Craven Producer: Cathy Konrad Marianne Maddalena Screenplay: Kevin Williamson Main cast: Neve ...

Well, Scream 1 was great wasn't it, it was a whole new addition to the teen-scream genre, bringing a tired type of movie back to life - and oh how good it was, but we're not here to talk about the first movie, its the second one - does it live up to its promise? well read on faithful ciaoser and all shall be explained. We join the story at the premiere of the new movie "stab" (Look out for a cameo appearance by Tori Spelling, remember the joke syd ... ...But anyway its a Scream movie we all know the rough plot, its a somebodys trying to kill Syd, leaving a trail of dead bodies in their path - it could be anyone type of movie. OK, so its a plot 'of sorts' and it does work well, but as I've said before - its a horror movie so we can't expect miracles when it comes to the story-writing, but they try honest they do. Anyway, as viewers of the first movie will know half the main cast aren't alive any more ...

Advantages: good suspense and scares, a lot more polished Disadvantages: weak ending
Scream 2's initial release on dvd was an underwhelming affair. If you had the R1/R2 version all you got was a widescreen print of the film, not 16x9 enhanced and devoid of any extras. Well now that situation has been redeemed with the release of a collectors edition of the film. In R1 land it's available in a bix set and is anamorphic. The same goes for R2 except that some clever guy forgot to include an anamorphic transfer. Yep this means that those ... ...Scream 2 is the better of the trilogy. It's just a more glossy well orchestrated film that has laughs but thanks to a larger canvas and locations gets better scares. Don't agree ? Then take a look at the killer's stalking of Gale in the recording studio or the taunting of Randy on the cellphone. Both of these rack up the tension with the help of space. The Cox/Arquette relationship also fires on all cylinders with some real heat that comes good in ...

...of a Wes Craven fan. Scream 2 (1997) is the second part of an enjoyable, memorable, modern horror trilogy - directed by Wes Craven (US). In this sequel to the 1996 classic Scream 1, a masked killer returns to get stab happy in copycat fashion. It has been two years since the events at Woodsboro and the surprising discovery of the original Killers identity. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and film nut Randy (Jamie Kennedy) are both students at the ... ...In no way will Scream 2 ever surpass the classic Drew Barrymore opening of the original, however this film is querky, violent and very much tongue in cheek. The dialogue is, in parts a little cheesy but constant references to Courtney Cox's 'Friends' co-stars, and the ever crazy ramblings from wannabe psycho Randy, only make this film better. The original cast returns - the wonderful Neve Campbell as Sydney, Courtney Cox as Gail Weathers and of course ...

Scream 2 is the inevitable sequel to the groundbreaking smash hit Scream. If you don’t know what Scream is, check out one of the many excellent ops on Ciao before reading this, might as well do it in order huh? Otherwise this op may ruin it, as I’m going to have to refer to it in some way.
OK, if you’re still reading I assume you know what Scream is, and hopefully you have seen it. I’ll try not to give anything away for it ... ...movies for me. Cool. Scream 2 carries on the story from the first film, Syd Prescott (Neve Campbell) is now a college girl, moving away form Woodsboro to study acting, in the hope of making it bog and putting all the murderous troubles behind her. However, things don’t go so well. When a new film “Stab”, based on the story of the Woodsboro murders by Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) premieres in her new town the nightmare starts for ...

Well I watched the first one yesterday and the sequel today. As with most sequels the original was slightly better. The first is very much like Halloween, this is more like Urban legend, I know what you did last summer. Which isn't bad it's ok. If you are a horror fan you will enjoy this but I would say the first one is more gory, scary and sexier than this. If the first was a 15 ( very surprised about that!) then this should be a 12 rather than a 15. Also the story doesn't really continue, so you don't need to have seen the first in order to see this.Quite why the UK distributors for this flick decided to call it Halloween Camp 2 is a mystery for several reasons. The first is that the 'original' Halloween Camp was actually the sequel to Scream Bloody Murder, which was originally titled simply Bloody Murder, and HC1 was called Bloody ...
Advantages: Great night in Disadvantages: If you haven't seen it in the pictures you won't get the full pleassure of this film!
Scream 3 is the last chapter in the Scream trilogy, and it is as good if not better than Scream and Scream2!
Scream 3 still stars the three big ones from the first two: Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox Arquette, a few people from the other 2 films pop up as well.
On the Scream 3 DVD you get many extras unlike Scream and Scream2, you get:
*Outtakes from all 3 Scream movies
*Behind the scenes montage
*Deleted scenes with commentary from Wes Craven and Crew
*Alternative ending
*Creed music video “What If”
*Audio commentary (Wes Craven, Cast and Crew)
*Cast and Crew biography
*2 theatrical trailers
Owners of Scream and Scream2 on DVD will know this is 1000 times more extras than what was on those; on Scream and Scream2 you get the following extras:
*Ummm, nothing, sorry!

Universal are releasing some real quality Region 1 DVDs of late. Many are badged as ‘Widescreen Collectors Edition’ without any other versions being available. Scream 3 was a good example of this and so is Nutty Professor 2 : The Klumps.
The DVD is produced in beautiful anamorphic widescreen with crystal clear Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound. It is loaded with extras that include a particularly good ‘Spotlight on Location’ taking you behind the scenes. It also has commentaries from the Director, deleted scenes, extended scenes, an interview with Director and Producer, outtakes, a documentary about the make-up techniques used, music videos and lots more.
The film itself stars Eddie Murphy and Janet Jackson. It is a sequel in that it revives the original ‘Professor Klump’ character and the ‘ ...

DVD Description
The hip, darkly comical sequel to self-aware "SCREAM." Sidney Prescott, now in college, once again finds herself the target of a bloodthirsty, cloak-clad, mask-wearing, knife-wielding, psychotic killer whose penchant for pop movie trivia runs deep. This time, however, the body count is higher and the deaths more outrageous--traits of a true sequel, as noted by one unfortunate victim. Not as pithy as the first film, but still a satisfying, definite true-to-form teen slasher.
