Advantages: Superb casting, faithful adaptition of comic, Altman's direction

Advantages: Nice underwater photography
Disadvantages: Poor performances, a lack of depth and dodgy script

...will be disappointed and have to settle for plenty of close-ups of her rear instead. Scott Caan does smug pretty well as Jared's brother Bryce but is never required to stretch his acting beyond a one-note performance. He has fairly good rapport with Walker but feels more like a mate than a sibling to him. Unfortunately he has zero chemistry with his on-screen lover, making their relationship feel improbable at best. Even more difficult to understand is his propensity for sudden outbreaks at violence, which were presumably inserted to make the actor look more manly. Ashley Scott is the latest in an unending line of leggy model types to have a crack at Hollywood. She's certainly got sex appeal and legs up to her armpits as the vampish gold-digger Amanda but is far from subtle and you can practically see the dollar signs where her pupils should be. It...
