Advantages: enjoyable for BIG fans Disadvantages: No for that BIGGER fans!
, the scenes are funny and the animation of Scooby is brilliant but this storyline was too tiresome for me and I got bored too easily, I was expecting something totally different. I have to give credit to the actors / actresses though, they are great even if they didn't make me laugh that much!
ACTORS/ACTRESSES
Shaggy
Matthew Lillard
The scraggy looking, dog friendly young man is played brilliantly by Matthew Lillard, I have to give the man credit for working so well with a computer animated dog! It must have been tough! The voice is brilliant, proper Shaggy style! Not only is his voice and make up brilliant though, his whole body language and gesture was pretty good too, the walk is fantastic and this actor had Shaggy sussed!
ScoobyDoo
Neil Fanning
This animatedScooby was voiced well by Neil Fanning, it was to perfection, so ...
Advantages: Just like the cartoons, Matthew Lillard carries off Shaggy's voice superbly, Hardly notice that Scooby is an animation Disadvantages: If only it had come out about 15 years ago - I would have absolutely loved to see this as a kid!!!
... the gang split.
I don't want to give away too much of the plot in this review, but here's a bit of an outline...
A couple of years later the gang are all doing their own thing - but one day, unbeknown to each other, they all receive letters asking them to go to Spooky Island as the owner needs them to solve a mystery for him. The gang turn up at the airport to depart for Spooky Island, which is where they all meet up again. There's tension at first, as the group didn't really part as best of friends, but it's not long before they are all working together to solve the mystery of why teenagers who go to Spooky Island for a fun time all seem to leave as perfect mannered, quiet, polite and civilised people.
That's enough of talking about the plot, except to say that you aren't deprived of a typical ScoobyDoo ending where the gang unmask ...
Advantages: A Blast From The Past Disadvantages: Should Stay In The Past
The eagerly awaited ScoobyDoo the movie, throughout this opinion I will discuss the plot and gives my view as to the good, bad and the indifferent parts to determine whether it is a case of ScoobyDoo or Scooby Dont so if you don't want me to reveal the story to you, then please look away now! The film promised much whith a star cast of Freddie Prinze Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini, Rowan Atkinson, Scott Innes and Isla Fischer (was in the Aussie soaps a while back). The films is directed by Raja Gosnell and rated certificate PG.
The movie kicks off straight into the action with a scene at the Wow-o-Toy Factory where they are trying to catch a ghost which has got Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar) suspended in the air and she comes out with some of comment such as "now I have got a wedgie", what a thought ...
