Chessy but fun!
Advantages: Fun story Disadvantages: A bit childish
...a fan club convention of Galaxy Quest. We then see a backroom shot of actors dressed in their respective costumes. There is Gwen (played by Sigourney Weaver, Alexander (played by Alan Rickman), Fred (played by Tony Shalhoub) and Tommy (played by Daryl Mitchell). They are upset that the main cast charecter Jason (played by Tim Allen) is late for the convention. Jason arrives and they go on stage. A group of "aliens" go up to Jason asking for his help. ... ...the ship they have built.
The film has cheesy acting and jokes and is similiar to Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy and Spaceballs. I like the story, I think the special effects are good and the charecters (human and alien) are good. Cant remember the soundtrack. ...

The Fifth Element review
Advantages: Good story, wacky costumes, gorgeous visuals Disadvantages: None
The Fifth Element is a sci-fi fantasy action film written and directed by Luc Besson (who also directed Leon) and stars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and Milla Jovovich.
Set 300 years in the future, cab driver and former special forces soldier Korben Dallas (Willis) is going about his day when a woman comes crashing through the roof of his taxi and asks for help. He obliges, and loses the heat that were following her. He soon finds out that ... ...been sent here to save the universe.
Every 5000 years, when the planets are in alignment, a great evil appears, and will kill every living thing it comes across. So the fifth element, along with the other four elements (which are stones with lines carved into them) have to travel to a special site in Egypt which focuses their power and turns the fifth element into a very powerful weapon. If the evil gets there before them, light will turn to dark, ...

A.L.I.E.N. - AN OUTSTANDING MOVIE !
Advantages: IT DOESN'T GET BETTER THAN THIS Disadvantages: NOTHING
...they can about the weird alien ship. But what they find is the stuff of nightmares. With a superb cast of; Sigourney Weaver ... Ripley John Hurt ... Kane Ian Holm ... Ash (My Precious) Tom Skerritt ... Dallas Veronica Cartwright ... Lambert Harry Dean Stanton ... Brett Yaphet Kotto ... Parker Soon the horror will spread throughout their ship and people will start to die OR WORSE! With acid for blood and a built in drive simply to reproduce, ... ...The opening of the alien egg and the crawling thing that emerges is ghastly, when it decides to give Kane (John Hurt) a big kiss you know things are about to get ugly very quickly. The crew are simply out of their depth and simply cannot cope with what is about to happen to them. Only 'Jones' the ships cat knows what is happening and he soon makes tracks for the escape pod. The film was darkly shot but that was to its advantage because unlike more ...

2001: A Space Odyssey review
Advantages: Fascinating, thought-provoking, fantastic use of music Disadvantages: None
2001: A Space Odyssey is a sci-fi film made in 1968, directed by Stanley Kubrick and written by Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke.
One of the recurring themes in this film is evolution. The first 30 mins or so have no dialogue at all, and focus on a very distant point in our past, when a group of herbivore apes are attacked, and one is killed, by a leopard. They are also driven from their water hole by another tribe, so they sleep in a rock crater overnight. ... ...monolith has appeared in front of them. They are very curious as to what this is, and one of them touches it. Not long after, this particular ape remembers the monolith and realises he can use a bone as a weapon to defend himself. So they go back and kill the tribe that took over their water hole and, jubilant, the aforementioned ape throws his bone in the air. This leads to one of the best cuts I've ever seen, when we see the bone flying through ...

You will comply!
Advantages: Brilliantly scary Borg...I was terrified! Disadvantages: The battle scene at the start should have been much longer.
...that the last couple of Star Trek films had lost a bit of their direction. Although I really enjoyed all of the films (even the worst one - Star Trek V) this was going to be an exciting change in direction. The film focuses on the Borgs continuing attempts to take over the alpha quadrant and in particular - humanity. The film opens with an amazing battle scene...one not to be missed and sadly, not one they have managed to recreate in the films (although ... ...is a gem for all star trek fans and the Borg are scary enough to make Doctor Who fans hide behind the settee too. Jean Luc Picard is brilliant too...watch how he reacts to being compared with Captain Ahab...brilliant writing. Summary: A return to what Trek does best ...
