Review of Stargate Atlantis - Series 3 - Complete (DVD)

Atlantis shaped goodness

Advantages: Some good stories, continuing a great series
Disadvantages: special effects went downhill a little

...SOMEWHERE) For all those Stargate SG1 fans (and I know you are out there) this season starts linking into whats happening in SG1. I quite enjoyed this, but then I've seen all the Stargate SG1 episodes so I knew what they were all talking about. For anyone who hasn't seen SG1 (or at least the season its linked into) there are times where it might not make as much sense as it should. Its ok though, you'd get by fine with just a small sense of confusion ...
...bit more observant when it came to the similarities between SG1 and Atlantis, infact at times they pretty much refer to the "missions" SG1 went on that were simmilar to the situation they were in. A little bit of sneaky story recycling at times. The end of the season Finale (as great as it is) is a well used favourite. The bad guys come to earth. Oh crap. Review of Stargate Atlantis - Series 2 Vol.2 (DVD)

Sometimes, Ignorance is bliss

Advantages: clever thriller, good story, well acted
Disadvantages: bit depressing?

Dont misunderstand my review title, this is a cracking film. You can nearly always say that about Nicolas Cage films, but this one really is! The premise is simple. There are many disasters happening on earth, for some reason, aliens decide to warn mankind about the upcoming disasters by "whispering" them to a little girl in the 1950's. Unfortuneately, that girl does nothing with the information other than write it down on a bit of paper and allow ...
...capsule. The capsule is dug up in the current day and discovered by Nicolas Cage's character. He soon discovers the code in the series of numbers written on the page and works out that the code tells of impending disasters, when they will happen, how many will die and the location. Return To Form!

Advantages: Classy return to form, set in the future! very well done!
Disadvantages: should have been an 18 to be its best!

Review of Terminator - Salvation (Blu-ray)

Science defying Madness!

Advantages: easy to watch, reasonably priced, good picture
Disadvantages: very unrealistic

...I remembered her saying she wanted to see it at the cinema, but we never got round to going. I admit, i was a little uninterested as the whole concept seemed a bit ridiculous. If you haven't seen the trailer, then it wont be spoiling it too much that the premise of the film is action orientated and there's physics defying gun play where the main characters make bullets travel in circles and bends in order to kill people they shouldn't be able too. ...
