Advantages: A different story to the norm
Disadvantages: Starts to drag about midway through the movie

When this film was first advertised I really looked foward to it as M Night Shylaman has had some really good movies Signs being one of my favorites and this looked to be going back on track after the disappointment with The Village. Shyamalan's next supernatural fairy tale tails off before it's do

Advantages: Great start, two leads
Disadvantages: Second half just disappoints

...Sense. I would place Lady In The Water somewhere in the middle. If anything, it edges closer to The Village, but only because Bryce Dallas Howard is once again a powerful character in the film. She plays Story, the Lady of the title, while the water in the title is that of an appartment block swimming pool. ...huge twist at the end. Lady In The Water does have a couple of surprises up its sleeve, but nothing major that would shock as in some of his other films. The DVD is currently available to buy from amazon.co.uk for a reasonably low price at the moment, but it's not the sort of film I would bother getting on DVD. It passes the time and has flashes of brilliance, but the disappointing later parts of the film kind of spoil it in a way. ...

Sometimes, Ignorance is bliss

Advantages: clever thriller, good story, well acted
Disadvantages: bit depressing?

Dont misunderstand my review title, this is a cracking film. You can nearly always say that about Nicolas Cage films, but this one really is! The premise is simple. There are many disasters happening on earth, for some reason, aliens decide to warn mankind about the upcoming disasters by "whispering" them to a little girl in the 1950's.
