When is a director's cut not a director's cut?

Advantages: Cool effects, good storyline, scary.
Disadvantages: This is not the director's cut

Alien follows the story of a group of deep-space miners who are sent off-course to investigate a distress call from what turns out to be an alien ship. Subsequently, a creature manages to get on board the ship - I won't spoil it by saying how - and starts hunting the crew. Sometimes, Ignorance is bliss

Advantages: clever thriller, good story, well acted

Advantages: Classy return to form, set in the future! very well done!
Disadvantages: should have been an 18 to be its best!
