Star Trek Movie Boxet Review
Review of Star Trek : 1-10 (Movie Box Set) by hiddenagenda

Advantages: Good Quality, Fun
Disadvantages: Alot of Disks

When i first noticed this title in the shops, my first reaction was "Thats too expensive" but then i realised that it was the price for ten films all included in the one set. The films in this set each have their own individual story and are only linked by the setting and characters. Each film in this set is interesting and have many good points and few bad points, on afew of the films the special effects are a bit lacking but this is due to the ... Read review

I am Legend
Review of I Am Legend DVD by lizzie71

Advantages: Unique storyline, with upto date issues
Disadvantages: none

...his state of mind. I found this film quite tense as you weren't sure how safe he was as he travelled through New York and much tension is derived from using the shadows and the unknown and i also found it poignant, what he finds to do all day as a lone survivor in New York and how being alone affects him and how he manages to survive, find food and a purpose to living all add to his story. This also helps us reflect on what effect mankinds constant ... Read review

A Grim Future Vision
Review of Zero Population Growth AKA Z.P.G. by sghawken

Advantages: An idea of what our future could hold
Disadvantages: Dull and lifeless

...say that the world that Zero Population Growth displays was inevitable. Set in the future (though when is unknown) this 1972 movie finds Oliver Reed and Geraldine Chaplin playing a young couple whose hopes and dreams of the future are delivered a crashing blow. After what could have been several nuclear wars, or at least some sort of radioactive disaster, the population live in a sort of Big Brother existence. The air outside is so polluted that ...
...more dangerous dreams. Zero Population Growth follows in the wake of movies like Fahrenheit 451, giving a clinical and disturbing view of the future. Its ultimate storyline would not come as a surprise to anyone, two people daring to go out on a limb in order to have a child of their own. But what does come as a bit of a surprise is how unforgiving dull this movie is after so much potential. If you'll forgive me, the world mind numbing would not ... Read review

Pretty intense ride...
Review of The Butterfly Effect DVD by Raef86

Advantages: Gets you thinking, decent acting and concept
Disadvantages: TV ending not included in special features

...enjoy thought-provoking, original films, then The Butterfly Effect could be for you. It isn't as philosophically mind-bending as I think its creators wanted it to be, but it is quite intense and will invoke some debate after watching. The storyline and acting are both good, and you get caught up in the tension as the main character attempts to make the decision that's best for all, with devastating consequences. There's a part in the middle where ...
...purpose to every scene. If you saw it in the cinema or on TV, be prepared for a different ending. I was a bit disappointed that the whole alternative ending wasn't included in the special features, only the corny part of it. Definitely worth having, to watch at leisure. Enjoy. ... Read review

Disadvantages: a bit generic looking at times

...who haven't seen the original Tenchi Muyo series, it is about a typical high school boy whose home is invaded by beautiful women from space connected together by the power of the planet Jurai's space trees through one form or another. Planet Jurai is very similar to planet earth but the Jurians themselves are very much like the elves from Lord of the rings. Providing they stay connected to a tree which is also their space ship they can live forever. ...
